Beautiful historical property located in a terrific neighborhood. A couple blocks away from the sea cliffs or Capitola Village. Easy on-site parking. Very kind and accommodating owner and staff. Groovy (the dog) will brighten up your day! Will stay again.

This is beautiful, nostalgic and historic property. The staff is warm and helpful, and the cookies and champagne were a nice touch. It’s clean but alas, it smells old. Let’s get to the room- I had no view (but you can get great views in the restaurant). The bed was ok (soft sheets, good pillows and nice comforter) but with some divots in the mattress, it was not the perfect sleep I would expect at a luxury property at this price point. Amenities were average. Carpet could use a steam clean. Here are the two big negatives. 1. parking is $43 a day and it’s a hassle- you have to scan a QR code and download an app, upload your info in order to pay for parking- if you have reception. Otherwise, walk around til you find reception and then start over. My suggestion- do away with this third party parking fiasco. 2. Thank you for the room “credit” of $40 a day to cover one order of ONE scrambled egg breakfast which costs...$40. My suggestion would be an $80 food credit. But I guess I paid for the experience of eating said breakfast in a beautiful setting with my lovely husband- and that, I can NOT complain about. It was a nice stay but I’m picky. ;)

This is our second stay here and just like the first time this beautiful hotel does not disappoint. The rooms are so comfortable and bedding and towels are so soft. We even looked the brand up and purchased sheets for our home because they were so nice. The pool on the roof is very chill with a nice bar and the view is wonderful. We will definitely stay here again.

Poor service on check in, check out and enquiries. I stood in the queue to check out while 3 other customers were served. Check in experience was similar. Two staff then stood, chatted and ignored me. The air con in the room is noisy but is cold, which was appreciated. Well located and comfortable rooms.

I can not recommend the Stanford Hotel, even though the location is wonderful. The hotel itself is clean and very nice, but the services were not. I rented 4 rooms there for my family to stay in San Francisco for my son's wedding. The valet service was a disaster. The first night the valet lost my son's car and took over 1 1/2 hours to find it, causing he, his wife, and 2 year old son to miss half of that evening's event. My other son had similar problems with the valet service. He called from their room a half hour before coming down, only to find that when they did come down, they weren't even in the queue. It took them over an hour to get their car, causing them to have to RUN to make the ceremony itself. Both sons needed their carseats, so they could not simply grab a rideshare. The hotel charges a steep daily parking fee, so it's fair to expect some level of service. They were told that the hotel garage is about 5 blocks away and they only had one valet retrieving, even on a very busy Saturday morning. My other comment concerns the management. My son and his fiancee delivered a Welcome Gift to be left in my husband's and my room when we arrived on Friday afternoon. We never received it. When my son called on Monday, they were told that it was still sitting on the manager's desk! There were 4 wedding parties at the hotel last weekend, and I sincerely hope that they had better luck.
