Tidewater Region Honeymoon Holidays

I am hugely observant regarding housekeeping. The housekeeping was excellent for my 9 day stay. Front desk was good. I wish the restaurant delivered to the room instead you must go to the lobby and pick up your food. Sweet neighborhood and only a 20 minute uber ride to central DC. I would book again.

Everything was great. My only suggestion is that - sadly the pastry nook is closed. There isnt an option for a coffee bar complimentary. I had to get coffee from the restaurant for my partner when he was sick- I bought two coffees so he would not have to make a trip and it was over $20 for a couple of coffees (I got one). I was like - this is kinda silly. And parking valet is the only option if not on the street parking and that is $65 a night. So it was wonderful but - it would be great if those little things were complimentary. The food was good at the restaurant. Not great but good. The best thing besides the view from our room - was the staff is very good. Everyone is VERY good. Maybe I could say - they are great. The lady who checked us in - the cleaning team- anyone I asked for anything - the doormen (doorpeople) - the people in the restaurant and bars. Very good staff. The hotel is a little "dated" but I hope it stays kinda retro because it is a historic hotel. I just hope they somehow do something even if they have to add $20 a night to the rooms - to have the valet parking be free and give the visitors a free coffee barn downstairs. My room only had one coffee cup and no milk so making coffee in the room did not work.

Ms. Deborah was very nice and welcoming. It was the day we went to check out was the problem. The young lady who was white treated us like we were the problem because we wanted to check out early. She informed us that she couldn’t check us out until the next day because this was a third party booking. She stated she had to keep our credit card open until our original date to check out. The bedroom door did not shut close and the air condition continually ran on high, so you froze or shut it off and be hot.

Excellent staff, convenient location. Beds needed new mattresses. Minor issues with outlets and shower. Air conditioner kept the room cool during the day but not so much during the night. Limited control on the thermostat. The staff were very friendly and helpful! Would stay again if mattress were changed out.
