Due to the ongoing effects of the COVID-19 outbreak, travelling now comes with a few extra challenges. Keep in mind these useful tips before jumping on your flight to Assateague Island National Seashore:

• Research if any travel restrictions apply to your origin and destination before booking anything. Also check if there are any requirements you'll have to follow on arrival, such as proof of a negative COVID-19 test.
• When you pass through airport checkpoints, do not remove your face mask. You will be asked to briefly lower it for identification purposes. Those who refuse to wear a mask may face civil penalties and may also be denied boarding.
• Rather than handing a TSA officer your boarding pass, place it directly on the scanner yourself. When that's done, hold it up for inspection.
• One container of liquid hand sanitizer is now permitted in your carry-on bag. It must not be larger than 12 oz (350 ml), and you'll have to take it out of your bag for X-ray scanning.
• Remove items from your pockets, such as your wallet, phone and small change, and put them in your carry-on instead of into bins. This will reduce handling during the screening process.
• Separate any food you're carrying for screening. Placing it in a clear plastic bag and into a bin reduces the need for a TSA agent to handle and inspect your belongings.
