The reason I have given poor ratings is mainly because of the bathroom shower. It was set at a high temparature and the dial/knob was not working so we literally had to take a shower in scalding water. We complained on the day we checked in and a manager came to look but he was least bothered. He tried turning the knob once or twice and then said this is how it's going to be. We did complain about this at check out next morning but the staff were not bothered, just said sorry.

The lady at check in was most helpful and apologetic as we had email confirmation of an upgrade which we couldn’t get due to errors on the hotel’s behalf. Complimentary cocktails were offered by way of an apology, but due to the member of staff making them not knowing what to do we had to pour these down a sink. When we got our allocated room there was already someone in it. We were then allocated a third room - 228 - which despite its number could only be accessed from the first floor which we had not been told. Breakfast was also shambolic, we had to wait in reception for 20mins despite the breakfast room being less than half full. In our opinion the problem was poor management and poor training, the staff were under a lot of pressure which they couldn’t hide.

Rocpool Reserve is a beautiful boutique hotel in a great location. We stayed in one of the suites with a private hot tub and sauna, and the room itself was spacious with a very nice bathroom. We were especially looking forward to enjoying the hot tub and sauna. The service was outstanding from start to finish. The front desk staff was warm, welcoming, and always happy to help. The breakfast experience was the best of the four hotels we stayed at during our two-week vacation in Scotland. The chef happily prepared anything we wanted, and the quality was excellent. We were traveling with a picky 16-year-old, and the staff went out of their way to accommodate her preferences, making breakfast one of the highlights of our stay. The location is another major plus. It’s an easy walk to Inverness Castle and the city center, there are plenty of food delivery options nearby, and the parking was convenient with easy access in and out. The biggest drawback was that the hotel does not have air conditioning. We visited during an exceptional heat wave, and the small fan provided was not enough to cool the room. It made sleeping nearly impossible, and unfortunately the suite was so warm that we couldn’t enjoy the private hot tub or sauna—the very amenities we had booked the room for. I have no doubt this suite would be incredible during the fall or winter when the temperatures are cooler. Overall, Rocpool Reserve offers exceptional service, an outstanding breakfast, beautiful suites.

Everything was exceptional. The hospitality from Graham and Sheena was second to none. We got lost our first night out and after a quick call, Graham got us back on track and was actually on his way out to find us when we turned up the drive! That is the level of hospitality provided. Breakfast was delectable! Fresh, buttery croissants, creamy eggs, tasty haggis, sweet fried tomatoes and the tenderest bacon! The beds were so comfortable and the pillows so fluffy!!! The Walker shortbread in the room just cinches the entire package!!! Blervie House is the go too destination during your stay in Scotland!!! Truly wonderful place and amazing hosts. 🥰😍❤️

Rooms were in need of renovation. Musty smell in the room we were told was the best room in the hotel. Heat register was on even though it was set to off so the room was incredibly hot. We approached the front desk with the problem twice and they did nothing about it. The room had no mini fridge and the Manager said they were in the process of replacing it because a previous guest had plugged something into the outlet and blew it up. How long does it take to get a mini fridge replaced? Very odd since we were paying $700 CDN per night. No concession on price was offered. No elevator so we had to haul our luggage to the third floor ourselves!! Restaurant was poor quality food and the Eggs Benedict we ordered one morning for breakfast were overcooked and had been sprinkled with an extremely hot chilli pepper flakes. To top it off, on our final breakfast morning after having a cup of tea we noticed a hair in the milk container. Disgusting and nauseating! Couldn’t check out fast enough and get away from this dump. Too bad as the Golf course was one of the best I’ve ever played. Do not stay at this place under any circumstances. It needs to be bulldozed.

Gorgeous property, very well equipped kitchen, perfect location a two minute walk from the Main Street.
