"We had the pleasure of staying with Marion & Moray recently. We survived the applecross pass drive! The complementary wee dram was very welcome after the drive & fighting the midges while watching the sunset at the beach. We were in a top floor room. Chatted with Marion & Moray that evening & over the full breakfast offering, talked about Applecross & some culture, events & travel tips which we were useful and gladly adopted! Truly wonderful stay with a lovely friendly couple you will not be disapponted .. watch out for the midges which will attack you 😂.. we also booked the applecross sauna with stunning views which we recommend. Many thanks Marion & Moray .. Andras & Rob"

"Plenty of parking available. The employees we met were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean. The only issue I would have is that the walls of the room are very thin. This wouldn’t prevent me staying again. If planning a trip to Skye I would recommend it as a base."

Gairloch Hotel

Gairloch Hotel

8/10 Good
"What an incredible accommodation the Gairloch Hotel must have been in its day! But like so many hotels of its vintage, its age shows. Ceiling cracks and chipped paint, musty carpets and drapes, sagging cushions in the lobby area—one shouldn’t be surprised to find such things in a moderately priced historic hotel. If you want the Ritz or the Savoy, you have to pay for it. But the Gairloch Hotel still has lots of charm, spacious rooms, updated bathrooms, and the most comfortable bed we slept on during our two and-a-half week Scotland trip. And the breakfast buffet isn’t half bad either. Have realistic expectations and you may actually find them exceeded."

"We had 2 rooms booked here. The staff was friendly, the place is very cozy with a beautiful water facing property. We did not get a chance to eat lunch or dinner at the restaurant, but the breakfast had a lot of variety and was great! The rooms were clean, beds were comfortable. We stayed here 2 nights to explore Skye! I highly recommend Kings arms!"
