Lovely location and view overlooking the loch. The room was clean and comfortable, the en-suite had a bath and shower overhead. Could maybe do with some general updating but it does have an old-fashioned holiday hotel charm about it which we enjoyed. After all, it was built for the Victorians to enjoy holidays in the Highlands, following the trend set by Queen Victoria herself! The staff were all very pleasant and accommodating. Breakfast is serve yourself whether hot or continental, and there was plenty of choice. Dinner was also available at the hotel, but we didn't eat there as we had set our heart on fish and chips by the beach! Gairloch is small but has a lot to offer including shops, a museum, the Inverewe Gardens, and boat trips from the harbour.
