There is lots to do at Rodos Maris…swim, beach, table tennis, water polo, aqua gym. What we saw of the entertainment was good. Great music in the outside bar area. Rooms were serviced everyday, fridge loaded with complimentary cans of drink and big bottles of water. The main restaurant food was okay, the themed restaurants were really good able to have one meal in each during the stay as part of the AI. The drinks are really good flowing continuously made really well. The food stations and drinks on the beach and in the hotel are great. Fresh fruit, gyros, salads, noodles all sorts to choose from. Staff are great…
The hotel itself is tatty and dated. Cockroaches found repeatedly in rooms, staff offered to get them but not eradicated during the stay, no chance of different rooms as the hotel was full. Not enough sunbeds around the pool or at the beach…continuous battle every morning to find somewhere to sit.
There is a water outlet on the beach…no idea what is being let into the sea but it is right beside the sunbed area. The ‘gym’ is a shack in the corner of the tennis court with weights although it looks as though a new gym is being built on the beach. The hotel area generally is scruffy, water leaking through the ceiling in the bar, rubbish near the outside restaurants and beach area…it just needs tidying up. It is definitely not a 5 star hotel in my opinion. Such a shame as with a bit of effort I think it could be. There are other hotels along this stretch that look 5*.

This was our fourth stay here, and it has become our go-to hotel to relax.
The food continues to be of a very high standard, and we thoroughly enjoyed it throughout our stay. One small suggestion though – please don’t keep the red wine in the fridge!
The addition of the new speciality restaurants is a real bonus. Both the Indian and Mexican restaurants were excellent and were definite highlights of our holiday. The water park is another fantastic addition and adds even more value, especially for families.
There are a few areas where some maintenance is needed, particularly around the pool bar, but nothing major. More importantly, the rooms are starting to show their age and could do with a little TLC and closer management oversight.
Our room was comfortable, although we had booked a double bed and were given two singles pushed together. It wasn’t a major issue, but when you book a particular room type, it’s nice to receive what you’ve requested. We also had to ask for shower gel and other toiletries to be replenished, which again isn’t a huge problem but is something you wouldn’t expect to have to do in a five-star hotel. We also arrived to find a damaged lampshade, which remained unreplaced throughout our stay.
Overall, the theme of our feedback is simple: the hotel needs to focus on the basics. The staff are exceptional and are undoubtedly the reason we continue to return. They are the hotel’s greatest asset.
We will definitely be back, but we hope management invests.
