Lovely breakfast buffet and good choices for dinner Staff was helpful and friendly

Large apartment in a quiet neighborhood walking distance to all attractions since Bergen is pretty small. Have to make your own beds at start and take off all linens before leaving. Must do dishes and take out trash. Worth it if staying a couple of nights. Excellent price considering the large size of the space and in-apt laundry. Be careful with safety - someone constantly buzzing our apt to let them in at 4:30am but wouldn’t identify themselves.

This apartment is stylish, updated, and very cozy. The location is unbeatable, and the host responds quickly. However, there are several drawbacks. Privacy is a big issue—several windows have no curtains or blinds. Because neighboring buildings are so close, you can see right into other units. Embarrassingly, an unshaded window sits directly between our bathroom and the adjacent unit’s bedroom. The host’s demands are strict. We had to put on our own duvet covers upon arrival. Before checkout, we had to wash dishes, strip bed sheets, place all by the washer, and haul trash to a distant disposal site. Luggage storage is available in the basement, but the stairs and hallway were so cluttered with bed linens that hauling bags was tough. Also, there is no elevator across the 5 levels (including basement), only a narrow staircase. Check-in was also hard. We requested early check-in after a morning flight, which was denied. When we arrived at 3 PM, cleaning wasn't done, and we couldn't enter until 3:30 PM. Lastly, neighbors threw a balcony party with blasting music on our final night. House rules enforce a 10 PM quiet time for guests, though Bergen law says 11 PM. It felt unfair to follow strict rules when nearby units didn't respect them. The host put thought into design, but the heavy chores and flaws made our experience discounted.

We have a wonderful time in Bergen and our stay in this hotel was excellent. I was thrilled with our room which was spotless and the bed was extremely comfortable. The hotel was in a perfect location, it was near the shopping area, local transport and the waterfront. One of the highlights had to be the breakfasts. There was a vast choice of delicious hot foods, meats and cheeses, salmon and peppered fish, salads and a delicious array of fresh fruits, yogurts and cereals. There was a good choice of breads and I was able to get gluten free bread. If you had any room after all that there were also tasty pastries.

One of the best experiences we’ve had with our world travels. The property more than met our needs and was centrally located for us to hub and spoke to different destinations during our week long stay. The site is amazing with gorgeous views of the fjord. All the creature comforts were at our disposal making for great morning starts and welcoming finishes to the day. I couldn’t recommend it more as it was perfect for us. We were met promptly at check in and check out by our delightful host. Overall, just a great stay!!
