Perfect location for walking everywhere in old town and it was a decent size for our family of 2 adults and 2 older teens. The main reason we loved it was nice cold AC for these Texans during a very hot heat wave (100+ F). Good to cool off at night after dripping with sweat all day.

Space was perfect for our group. Only frustrating thing is that wifi did not work well in our room and is best down in the lobby so just be aware if you will be working or having devices that need it. Good location and very clean, well sized rooms. Parking is 3 levels below ground so just fyi in case anyone struggles with claustrophobia etc. Pool swimming must be booked well in advance as it’s small but nice. I’d book when you check in for the time slot you want during your stay.

We really enjoyed our stay. The room was spotlessly clean. The pool is amazing - clean and empty each time we visited. The walk to the tram is just 10 minutes. There is an excellent organic supermarket right next door. The only slight downsides.... Reception is only open from 15.00-20.00. We did wonder what would have happened if we had an issue outside these hours. There is a daily parking fee - not sure why this is as the car park was relatively empty and it is not city-centre located. You have to clean the kitchen and take trash out when leaving. Although, given the room rate being so good we didn't mind this. The room is not serviced during stay. There are no towels, soap etc in the pool area so need to take down from the room.

Choosing accommodation based on polished promotional photography often sets high expectations. Unfortunately, my stay at 7Hotel & Spa in Illkirch-Graffenstaden was defined by a sharp disconnect between online marketing and the physical reality on the ground—salvaged only by helpful front desk staff after a necessary complaint. The Arrival and Initial Room Assignment: While the hotel advertises a modern, contemporary wellness experience, the property itself feels noticeably dated. The exterior and common areas lack the crisp, fresh atmosphere shown online, looking stuck in a previous era of hotel design. The issue became critical upon checking into my initial room. Rather than a modern space, I was assigned an old, unrenovated unit in poor condition: Stained Carpet: The flooring was heavily worn with prominent, unhygienic stains. Dated Decor: The room featured scuffed, aged furniture and outdated lighting fixtures. Mismatched Standard: The space lacked the clean, bright ambiance promised in online listings. Unwilling to stay in an unacceptable room, I returned to reception to raise the issue. The receptionist handled my complaint professionally and efficiently, offering an immediate room transfer without pushback.

Great local five star hotel with charm. The only thing I miss Puls say is that the gym was only good if you want to do cardio, but nothing for strength training. The Sauna and Steam room, jacuzzi was an additional cost of 25 Euros per person, which for 5 stars should be free and the Gym should be properly equipped. Other than that it was a great experience. Do call for directions when you arrive by car, as GPS will quote you to a pedestrian zone.

Generally a comfortable stay in a convenient location. I liked that I could book a room with two bedrooms, separated by an internal door, both pleasantly decorated and clean. I didn’t like how hot the second ‘childrens’ room got when the door was shut, or that no milk came with the coffee/kettle. I didn’t like the way reception staff treated me like I was going to run off without paying.
