"Absolutely gem of a hotel , just perfect ! Brand new rooms available, Fabulous pool , actually two pools ! Food great although breakfast isn’t fantastic . So close to Nadi airport you can walk . Highly recommend Fiji gateway hotel ."

"Place was GROTTY & UNKEMPT. Had to ask for more pillows as only 2 provided. Bed linen was clean. Bathroom very inadequate. No plug in the wash hand basin, no mirror, so you couldn't shave in there. Had to get a plastic bowl, balance it on a table in front of the mirror which was on a wardrobe door in the bedroom to shave. No shower curtain so floor, toilet etc. all got wet. A lot of noise late into the night and early in the morning, Breakfast consisted of white bread and cake. Butter and jam. cut up apple and tinned fruit salad, cold baked beans, so called "juice" made with powdered stuff, super sweet. No water but provided when asked for. Unclean table cloth. Packet coffee and tea. No milk, just packet "whitener". No USB for charging phone. Room door and bathroom doors half rotten, terrible paintwork. The whole place needs to be refurbished. Take the GRAND out of the name!!"

"Let's start with the positives: the lobby, restaurant, grounds and pool area are very nice, clean and well maintained. The staff was very nice and helpful. The daily breakfast had a lot to offer, and the omelets were delicious. The restaurant had a nice selection of food and drinks at reasonable prices and the portions were very large. I think 2 people could easily split an entree. The day spa is excellent. The wifi signal was strong and dependable. Now, for what could be improved: my room was shabby and really needed a refresh(which is why this hotel got 3 stars from me). The bed was very uncomfortable and the lighting was poor. The bathroom needs to be replaced. The shower didn't have a curtain or door. It had a handheld nozzle, which I like, but the holder to put it in while washing was not on tightly and the nozzle moved all around so the water went everywhere since there wasn't a door to keep the water in the shower. The floor of the shower was quite slippery and there was no safety bar to hold. Obviously the location can't be changed, and I chose this location to save money. Plus I was taking day tours that offered pick ups so I didn't think it would be a problem. And it wasn't so much, but I will tell you that it's on a very busy road without sidewalks, so I did not feel comfortable walking around to find dinner. However, I just ate at the hotel, which was fine with me."
