"I was very impressed with the staff across the board, they were helpful at every turn - even making food for us when the kitchen was closed.
They made our stay very enjoyable and would definitely stay in Der Löwe again"

I seriously cannot fault this hotel in any way. The room and balcony was great. The bed and bedding was really comfy. The room was well lit, spacious and warm. The breakfast and dining facilities were amazing, so much to choose from. I will definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

We drove down to Hochkönig, Salzburg, Austria from the UK in September 2024 while heading back from Croatia and opted to stay here for 2 days. The front desk managed by a lovely gentleman who goes by the name of Hans (hope I’m spelling that right), he was really helpful and kind. I’d highly recommend staying here, the view from our apartment were amazing, the apartment was spacious, clean and well equipped. Please be aware there was an 80 Euro cleaning charge added to our stay… but we were aware...

Yes, the receptionist was a bit surprised when I pointed at a photo of the original building and told her that I had stayed at the 'old' Schweizerhof back in 1982. Much has changed since them when it comes to the building but I'm pleased to say that the old fashioned standards of great hospitality and nothing is too much trouble are as good as ever. This time I had a great room with a balcony facing the Kizbuheler Horn, what a sight to wake up to. I have availed myself of the spa treatments, got...

Lovely Hotel family run as many Austrian Hotels are. Excellent facilities and plenty of complimentary activities - guide to assist for hiking trips The Zell Am See/ Kaprun Summer card which was issued on a complimentary basis is well worth using for free entry to a number of attractions and reduced bus fare on the Post Bus.
Short walk to the Lakeside and wonderful views.

The apartment was of a good size with 1 separate double bedroom, bathroom, toilet, kitchen dining room lounge with a double sofa bed and plenty of storage. The hotel is flexible and you can book room only, bed & breakfast or half board and even mix it up if you like. We ate breakfast and evening meals once during our 7 night stay and found the food and service to be very good but we don't like to be tied down to set eating times so we ate in other restaurants and bars located in the town. We received a warm welcome from the staff at the Orgler who arranged a late check in as our flight was delayed. Although we arrived outside of the hours the front desk is open, a member of staff came back to the hotel to resolve an issue we had with an internal bedroom door being locked.
