"On our arrival, the apartment wasn't as clean as what it should have been. Tea/coffee sachets hadn't been restocked, half empty milk container in fridge, no fresh milk, the door handle to open the door into the apartment was faulty (took us awhile to work the handle to open the door), the room had a musky smell to it, considering it was supposed to have been cleaned/vacumed. Cleaner clearly did a rush job of cleaning even though we didnt enter the apartment until 4pm that day. I did tell the receptionist who made notes of my feedback and apologised for the cleaners lack of cleaning standards. I have been to this hotel previously and have been very satisfied with my stay. Hoping my next visit is back to the standard i expect."

"Cheap to a whole new level. Reception not open at check-in or at any time really, need to ring for assistance. Fridge turned off, aircon remote batteries removed, therefore need to turn on and fit batteries to start these appliances. Microwave looked great until you press the start button which doesn't press to start. No bedside lamps or light switches so you need to get out of bed to turn switch off. Our room had 1 ceiling light working out of the 2 (2nd switch was missing) and 1 floor lamp. The positives are, good bed, full size fridge, a couch and table and chairs, in reasonable condition. For a hotel room, they had plates, cutlery, glasses including tea towel and washing liquid which was a help. We also left our phone chargers behind, when i rang the next day, they had them, but, they are too busy to take to Post Office to send to me, (even though i was paying for postage)and i would have to come pick them up. Doh! I live hours away, hence needing a Motel for 2 nights. Im never going cheap again, here at Tweed Central Motel or anywhere else. "

"The room was not properly cleaned and, in all likelihood, had not been for some time. Shards of broken glass were scattered around on the floor, shower cubicle was very slippery as had not been properly cleaned beyond a cursory wipe-over. Somehow the front desk staff were critical of US for not notifying them earlier - not a very friendly or empathetic response."

"We didn’t use the pool The room was clean but the sound on the tv in the bedroom would go loud then soft and the one blanket that we had to use because we were cold could have been in use since world war 2. It was hard! the chairs on the verandah were unusable. Big splits right down the middle. Wouldn’t go to Mantra again."

"We booked a superior king room and it felt like a cell. The only window looked at a grey wall 2m away. Very limited natural light. When I sat on the bed I sank down and nearly sat on the floor. The room also smelt quite funky and the bathroom smelt of wee. There was a large stain on the carpet as you entered the room. We also could not stream anything from my phone and I was told it was my phone's problem - never had a problem anywhere else. Having said that it was in the perfect position for the beach, shops and eateries!"

"Good location, comfortable beds, good aircon. Those were the only positive things about this hotel. This hotel didn't meet minimum standards of being able to actually sleep. Saturday night there was a raging party in a nearby room from 9:30pm to midnight, this included screaming, yelling, karaoke, and loud music. We were honestly too tired to think about calling reception with the hope and expectation that someone on staff would have heard the noise and did something about it. Same again Sunday night except it started at 11pm and ended past 2am. This time we ended up calling reception 3 separate times to get it resolved eventually. The room is badly designed and fitted out. The window from the room to the bathroom is just weird and when someone gets up in the middle of the night the light wakes everyone up. The block out blinds are useless as they let in plenty of light around it (whatever happened to just using some nice curtains?). There is no table or desk in the room leaving you no where to put things down. To use the kettle you need to put it in the corner of the room on the floor or unplug the TV and put it on the TV cabinet. The toilet button is hard to flush and door can't close. The parking situation is just confusing with numerous sections labeled however with some garage doors left up, the signage disappears. There are little sparrows everywhere so your car gets covered in bird poop. The thumping dryer from next door is heard and felt through the walls. "
