The breakfast at the Hotel was magnificent, a great choice of cold buffet food.
The Hotel is a beautiful old colonial building restored to a high standard.
There was quiet AC in the rooms and comfortable, beds we slept well.
Pool area with loungers and sun umbrellas was well maintained .
The staff could've be more pleasant or helpful.

What a fantastic place and great value. When this popped up I thought "that looks different". Almost new, presumably installed this season, the swag tents are luxurious, very comfy, come with small kitchenette ( kettle, toaster, fridge) Comfy queen size bed. Short walk to new facilities block with ample hot water. ( Could do with a sqeegy to clean the floor after showering)

Good property, clean and central location.
Not much happening in the town over the 4 days we were there, lots of places closed for the holidays with the few remaining places open very busy and very limited facilities in the room. A microwave but only 2 saucer plates for example so we spent most of our stay exploring other areas.
For a short stop over it was fine.

We were so warmly welcomed by the lovely couple on reception yesterday evening - it was a great start to our stay. We both slept well. We will be back for sure (when next back in Oz!)
Thank you xx

Building manager was extremely helpful in arranging and preparing this magnificent upper floor apartment with wonderful views of the ocean. Great kitchen with all cooking facilities which was essential without the normal bar or restaurants you would get with a hotel.Easy parking with a secure under building car park. On outskirts of town so need car for eating out. Wish we had booked longer stay than the 2 nights!!

The best area to stay in Woodburn is along the Richmond River, particularly around the main street, River Street.
This area is the heart of the town, offering easy access to local amenities and the picturesque riverfront. River Street itself is lined with the town's essential services, including local eateries and shops, and provides direct views and access to the Richmond River. It's a convenient and central spot for visitors.
For families, staying near the river provides lovely opportunities for relaxed strolls along the water's edge and access to the town's small parks. The proximity to local cafes means a quick bite is always an option, and the straightforward layout of the town centre makes navigating with children simple.
Couples looking for a quiet getaway will appreciate the serene river views and the relaxed pace of life here.
When is the best time to go to Woodburn?
The best time to go to Woodburn is during the autumn (March to May) and spring (September to November) months.
These periods offer the most pleasant weather, with mild temperatures and less rainfall compared to the summer. It's ideal for outdoor activities like exploring the Richmond River or visiting nearby national parks. You'll find it comfortable for walking around and enjoying the local cafes and shops without the intense heat of summer or the cooler, wetter days of winter.
For those planning to explore the wider Northern Rivers region, these shoulder seasons also avoid the peak tourist crowds and higher prices often seen during the school holidays in summer.
