"Great hotel nestled in breath-taking scenery."
The hotel is great for kids--child-friendly but you don't feel like you're sacrificing anything as an adult, either. Our little guy loved the play room and the pool and the staff was wonderful! I would strongly recommend this hotel to other travellers!

"Excellent hotel in Wicklow County."
We were extremely with everything about the hotel. It's location was perfect and the hotel offered so much extras. Beautiful grounds for beautiful walks. Will stay there, again, when we return.

My room was on the corner of the hotel overlooking the main street which was noisy when trying to get to sleep. Overall the hotel was ok, its just looks a bit tired in places but work is in progress to address this. I would stay here again, the seafront is in walking distance and there is a good choice of restaurants in the town

"From the outside - it's nice hotel"
Breakfast was very poor. A buffet-style was in operation which meant food was being kept warm in steam containers. Only scrambled eggs were ready and these looked like they had seen better days. If you wanted fried or poached then you had to order and that was a wait. It appeared at time that there was insufficient staff to cover those customers requiring breakfast. I noticed that when the waiter took our room number, he recorded 37... that's 37 seated and attempting to get breakfast. All in all, breakfast was very poor indeed.

"Very clean ad lovely surroundings"
We came and had a room for a family of four. The room was very clean and seemed very nice. I was very pleased with the hotels grounds and the lovely walk way to the beach. The beds were comfortable & we all enjoyed a good nights sleep. The breakfast was included, we all tucked in & the breakfast was good. The staff were clearly very busy & rushed of their feet. However they remained professional in their role. I can honestly say that all the staff in the hotel were very pleasant and they worked very hard and in my opinion did a fantastic job. It was unfortunate that we identified a few faults - The towels left in the room were for 2 guests only not 4 guests for the 3 nights we stayed. The tea & coffee facilities was for two guests only. The bathroom door handle was missing from the inside of the bathroom & there was no way of locking the door. We ate from the bar menu on two of the evenings. The food was very nice & very well presented, however it is unfortunate that a live tiny slug came out onto the table from the salad garnish. Understandably you can not always get all the insects out of the lettuce when the chefs wash the leaves through. I am just pleased it didn't go into any of our mouths. The staff were very apologetic and knocked one meal of the bill. The facilities in the leisure club were included. It had a swimming pool, a Jacuzzi which felt like I was in heaven :) The gym equipment was a bit dated. Overall we all enjoyed our stay :) we all would return :)

"great location"
The location was the best part of the hotel. By car, most things in Dublin, north of Dublin, west of Dublin and south of Dublin was within an hour drive or less. The beds were nice and the breakfast was excellent. The rooms were a little older, but that was not a problem. Lots of space to park and great access (by foot if desired) to Powerscourt which is worth the time to visit for a day.

On arrival we received an upgrade much to our delight. The accomodation was classy and comfortable. The weather was extremely good with record temperatures recorded, so the need for air conditioning was highlighted. We are aware that classic surroundings do not come with air conditioning systems.! The gounds and scenery were amazing. We had one evening meal in the bar and it was very enjoyable. Breakfast was good and sustaining. Staff very friendly!

Pocket Guide: Spa Hotels in Wicklow

County Wicklow may be just down the coast from Dublin but it offers a complete change of pace to the capital's relentless energy. This is a place to relax in and you can find some delightful spa hotels to help you recharge your batteries and rejuvenate your body.

    Spa Hotels in County Wicklow

Whether you are looking to spend quality time with friends, a loved one or simply treating yourself while on a business trip there is the perfect spa hotel waiting to greet you in County Wicklow.

The only difficult part of your stay will be deciding which spa hotel to pick. The varied landscapes of this area is part of its enduring appeal and you can opt for a spa hotel set nestling at the foot of its mountains, in the heart of its unspoilt countryside or basking in the glory of its coastal splendour with the gentle Irish sea lapping against the golden sands.

    Relax in County Wicklow

The scenic natural beauty of the Vale of Avoca may well offer the perfect backdrop to your relaxing and indulgent hotel stay. Lining the banks of the meandering River Avoca is a valley whose rolling hills provide the perfect cradle for lovely little hamlets that are fringed by impossibly lush greenery and woodland. One of the most beautiful spots in Ireland, the Vale of Avoca is both tranquil and breathtaking at the same time.

The golden sands, framed by the mountains that form the backbone of the county, create some of the finest beaches on the east coast of Ireland. Brittas Bay, in particular, is widely regarded as one of the best. The beach itself is approached through undulating sand dunes on one side and the caress of the Irish Sea on the other.

    Spas and Service

If you are looking to combine your spa treatments, saunas, pampering and relaxing swims in the hotel pool with some outdoor activities and exercise then you are once more spoilt for choice. County Wicklow is home to more than 20 golf courses and you even have the option of staying at a spa hotel with a top class golf course within its grounds. In the mountains and on the Wicklow Way, one of Ireland's most popular walks, there are plenty of opportunities for rock climbing, mountain biking, hiking or simply strolling along the cliffs past the ruins of ancient monasteries and gorgeously restored Georgian mansion houses.

You can expect your spa hotel to offer treatments ranging from massages to manicures. You will also find pools, steam rooms, saunas and fully equipped gyms available. Many spa hotels are set in spacious grounds with perfectly maintained lawns and wild woodlands that provide the privacy and tranquillity that helps you feel refreshingly remote from the stresses and strains of your daily life.

The service, of course, extends beyond the spa. Fine dining is available both on-site and throughout County Wicklow and many spa hotels have round the clock room service so your needs can be met whatever time of day or night it is.

With its laid back vibe, stunning natural beauty and choice of hotels to pamper, reinvigorate and relax you County Wicklow is your chance to escape the frantic pace of modern life.
