About this property
Very Comfortable Peaceful Cabin in the Foothills of the Sangre'near Westcliffe!
Come stay at our rustic, but comfortable cabin snuggled in the foothills of the Sangre' de Cristo Mountain range at 8300 feet in front of Gibbs Peak with beautiful mountain and valley views all the way around, only 10 minutes North West of historic Westcliffe and Silvercliffe Co!!! AT THIS TIME NO ATV MOTORCYCLE OR OFF ROAD VEHICLE USE TOLERATED OR PERMITTED!! THERE IS NO ACCESS TO THE NATIONAL FOREST FROM THIS PROPERTY!! THERE IS NO SNOW PLOW OR REMOVAL!! It is essential to have a 4 Wheel Dr. or all wheel drive vehicle in the winter! It’s a very quiet, small community where few homes are occupied year round, with approximately 1acre which makes it the perfect place to "get-away" from it all. It is close enough to town for any needs you may have and is close to Lake DeWeese where fishing is available or sight seeing the beautiful San Isabel National Forest with hiking trails, Bishops Castle, Lake Isabel, the Royal Gorge and Canon City are only 40 miles away, and the great Arkansas River is about 20 miles and offers white water rafting, zip lines, tubing, kayaking, fly fishing and of course there is hunting in the mountains very close.
We have worked very hard to make our Cabin rustic but modern for an enjoyable stay for everyone. For convenience, we have installed wi-fi. The bed and hide-a-bed are new queen mattresses with the hide-a-bed upgraded to memory foam, both very comfortable. There is another couch in the living room for sleeping if needed. The living area is spacious with great views from inside as well. Kitchen, dining area is spacious and has a new gas range and dishwasher. The wood burning stove is just for looks and not useable at this time. Hot water heat is throughout the house, but there is no air conditioning as we've found open windows and fans are sufficient. The bedroom has a queen bed, dresser, large closet, all the amenities to make your stay comfortable. The bath has a tub/shower combination with jets in the tub to relax in after a hard day of hiking, hunting playing or just to enjoy. Everything is fully equipped, linens, dishes, etc. You can sit outside on the deck and enjoy the wildlife, and serenity of the area while cooking on the grill, all the while star gazing in the evening. There is Ample parking for 2 to 3 vehicles in the summer. Unfortunately at this time, the property is not handicap accessible.k

We were in town for a quick weekend and loved our stay here. The house was CLEAN and neat. Richard was fantastic to work with. Perfect place for the 3 of us.
Very comfortable and well stocked. If you’re needing a secluded place this is it! The host checked in with us to make sure all was good. Thank you very much!
We loved our time at Richard’s cabin. It was rustic with all the modern convenience that was needed. We appreciated the thoughtfulness of the set up. Just what the soul needed! Thanks again.
My husband and I and our two pups stayed at the cabin for 4 nights over Labor Day.
The cabin is very cute, and had everything we needed. Richard was quick to respond to a question by text.
Very quiet and the stars were amazing. Plenty of parking.
The cabin stay was a wonderful experience, Secluded, yet close to town for shopping.
We were in a power outage for 3 hours one evening, but Richard helped by contacting the power company. Plenty of entertainment options at the cabin and also in the area. Very enjoyable!
Clean, quiet, warm, and cozy. We enjoyed our stay. Richard was responsive to my questions. I definitely recommend this cabin for anyone who just wants to be away from the crowded cities for a period of time.
We spent a month at the property and it became a home away from home. It was not fancy, but it had everything we needed. Would stay there again. The host was very helpful.
Enjoyed ourselves. Cabin was a great getaway. So quiet😌

Very nice cabin! We really enjoyed the peaceful setting!
We did not want to leave! We weee able to enjoy Deweese Reservoir, the Rainbow Trail, and the lovely town of Westcliffe. We took walks right from the cabin and just relaxed in the living room. And we really appreciated the late checkout! So nice!
Very Private and relaxing. Stargazing was the best couldn’t believe how many stars you saw with no light pollution.. Chipmunks Squirels ohh my lol and saw an Elk and a baby walk right by on other side of fence The house was clean and well decorated. It is an older house so don’t expect glamour but everything you will need for a relaxing trip.
This cabin is perfectly situated in a very picturesque spot with views of the mountains, trees, and nature. The cabin is very spacious and there was enough room for 3 of us. It was very clean and had everything we needed to cook, watch Netflix and hang out. The night sky has some of the most magnificent views of the stars and the Milky Way that I have ever seen. The cabin is around 8 miles from Westcliffe so we were able to go into town to shop and get what we needed. I highly recommend this cabin and if the opportunity presents itself, I would certainly stay here again.
I was really excited for the stay here. After arriving it seemed perfect for a quiet getaway. Unfortunately we had to cut the trip short, but it had nothing to do with the quality of the property. The setup made checkout easy and Richard was very understanding. I would definitely stay here again and hope for better circumstances because the stars were beautiful from the back deck. Also the main bed was comfortable enough for my girlfriend and that is a huge plus.
We had a really nice time at your house Richard! You were an exceptional host. The house was very comfortable, with really nice views from the porch! We didn’t stay there but two nights, but would be happy to rent there again. My only complaint was the strong fragrance from the plug-ins. They were overwhelming. It took a day to air the place out. I’m very sensitive to fragrances so it may not be a problem for others. Really nice cabin! Thank you, Richard, for showing us to rent your place.
