"Fabulous boutique hotel / B&B"
I absolutely loved this hotel from the first moment I laid eyes on it. Imagine a country French style house completely gutted and remodeled in a modern zen style. Everything from the decor to the scented candles when you walk in is meant to make you feel calm and centered. The owner personally cooks breakfast to order each morning at whatever time you need. Conveniently located to Gatwick Airport, although we actually stayed for the Goodwood Revival Festival which causes all local hotels to book up a year in advance--I had to cast a wider net to find a place to stay and low and behold, this was perfect. All in all, a wonderful little bolthole to escape from the world.

"Stunning location"
Beautiful hotel in beautiful grounds. Stayed here to celebrate my husband's birthday. On arrival staff wished him a happy birthday and we were given a room upgrade. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean but on Sunday was not serviced until late afternoon. There is free wifi including a tablet in the room showing hotel facilities etc but also for Internet use by guests. On the downside it automatically switched on at 8 am shining a bright light into the room. Breakfast was disappointing. I would have expected waiter service in such a classy hotel but it was a buffet. The plates were cold and the food at best lukewarm. There was however plenty of choice. We dined in the Camelia Restaurent on Saturday night. Food was good but expensive. Service was very slow- the meal took 3 hours. There is a fitness room but not in hotel building and not well signposted. Hotel could be improved by addition of swimming pool and spa.

"Perfect night in the countryside "
We had a great nights stay at the Eight Bells. It was so friendly as soon as we arrived. We decided to have dinner at the pub which was delicious. Our stay was lovely. The room was clean and cosy we had everything we needed there. We weren't able to access the wifi but I did manage to connect to the pub serveral times which was useful. Service was fantastic and we couldn't recommend this place any more. We can't wait to return :) Emily & Lottie

"Good central location"
We arrived in the middle of a power cut caused by building work in an adjoining property. We were offered complementary drinks and when we returned a couple of hours later, all was well. The open fire in the bar and comfortable seating around it made a very welcoming ambience. The room had 3 steps between the sleeping area and en suite, we coped but it could have proved awkward. We had a quiet night in a comfortable bed with a firm mattress. The top of the mirror above the wash hand basin was level with my chest bone. I had to bend double to shave. The breakfast room was very cold after a frosty night, there appeared to be a lack of double-glazing in the mainly glazed building and the central heating system was off although a small portable heater was provided. The staff were friendly and helpful and it was a clean and welcoming place to stay.
