Find the tranquility you've been looking for at Paddy's Peak, a custom energy star home located at the top of Paddy Mountain in West Jefferson. Paddy's Peak is a secluded mountain retreat that offers breathtaking panoramic long range mountain views from 4,200 feet. The home is situated on 4 secluded acres and also has the convenience of town just minutes away, with West Jefferson located at the bottom of the mountain. Hike less than 100 yards up to the top of the mountain and enjoy a picnic overlooking the town of West Jefferson and a beautiful view of Mount Jefferson. Relax on the expansive deck and enjoy the hot tub and gas fire pit table in the evening, or enjoy the view inside. The living room features a two story prow of windows, so you can snuggle up in front of the stone fireplace and still enjoy the stunning 180 degree views unhindered. In fact the front of the home is full of windows on all levels, so you can enjoy the beautiful views while eating dinner, relaxing in bed, playing pool, or even doing dishes in the kitchen. On the lower level, you will find a bedroom with a queen bed and bunk bed for the kids to enjoy. Chill out while enjoying the view from the lower level game room which features a ball return pool table, an electronic double basketball game, a multicade arcade machine, and a skee ball machine. The game room opens up to a den with a 65 inch TV with surround sound. The lower level also has a full bath and lots of games. You can get a great cardio workout on the elliptical machine before you start your day. If you must work, there is a dedicated work station with an adjustable height desk, keyboard, monitor, and mouse. On the first floor/main level, you will find a spacious living room with breathtaking views and a beautiful stone fireplace. The high end custom kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need, including a double oven, microwave, gas range, air fryer, crock pot, electric can opener, blender, rice cooker, roaster, spice rack, VERY sharp knives and all the baking/cooking/serving dishes, utensils, kitchen gadgets and tools you need to cook a meal for a dozen people. In addition, there is a walk in pantry to store at least a week of food for a dozen people. The main level also features a master bedroom with a log king bed and private bath. Upstairs on the second floor you will find a second master bedroom with a log California king bed and direct access to the bathroom. The spacious bathroom includes a jacuzzi tub and large shower stall. The upstairs also has a second bedroom with a queen bed. There is plenty to do in the surrounding area with easy access to the Blue Ridge Parkway, lots of great hikes, horseback riding, zip lining, fishing, kayaking, and tubing all within a short drive. Downtown West Jefferson is also just an 8 minute drive, where you will find shopping, restaurants, groceries, an ABC store, and more. Or go shopping in Boone, just 30 minutes away. Paddy's Peak offers the best of both worlds, a completely secluded mountain retreat to get away from it all, with the convenience of town less than 2 miles from the bottom of the mountain. Escape from the world and let the mountain air refresh you! During winter months if it snows, you will need 4WD/AWD to get to the house as it is at the top of the mountain. If weather is of concern, please purchase trip insurance. We do not refund due to bad weather or difficulty getting up the road to the house. Note there is an exterior security camera under the deck pointed at the road leading up to the house. This helps us know if the road needs to be plowed in winter, monitor bear activity, and if unauthorized vehicles are at the house when it is not rented. There seem to be a lot of storage locations that are reserved to the owner, which is their right but that did impinge a little on responsibly storing some of the gear we brought; not a big deal but if your group is large factor it in your planning. House was clean, well stocked and everything seemed to work fine. Host was great, pleasant to work with and all went well.Small negatives to be aware of; there was an absence of shower/bath soap or body wash. Plenty of hand and dish washing soap but it's a good thing my suitcase always has a couple of small hotel sized bars somewhere in it. We were there in August and the deck/hot tub can be very sunny and thus hot. View is great, and I would love to be in it in October but since the balcony faces south in the summer months you'll need sunscreen out there. Spring and Fall will be wonderful here. ##### Ron H. This was a beautiful home with am amazing view. We stayed a weekend with family and we had a wonderful time. The kitchen is fully stocked with cookware, appliances, dishes, and utensils, which made preparing meals so much easier. We look forward to staying again! ##### Jordan K. It is very clean and worth every penny spent. For the first time on a vacation we actually loved staying in, there was so much to do with the children in the downstairs arcade. We had the most incredible weekend at Paddy's Peak. The house and location are absolutely stunning! The host was very responsive and helpful, as well. You will most definitely need 4WD if there's any chance of inclement weather. We can not say enough great things about our experience. The cabin is well equipped with all the comforts we needed. Two toddlers and several adults all enjoyed the cabin, especially the views. Positioned high up on the mountain with spectacular views. Yes, the drive up is a bit scary, just ensure you’re in a powerful vehicle. Easy 10min drive to West Jefferson. Wonderful location! Overall, a wonderful experience!! ##### Patricia P. We had a day of very wet weather, so the kids (and adults) got to make use of the basement with all the games!
