Beautiful house set in the stunning Exmoor National park is worth the 5 stars alone. However , it is the attentiveness of the owners and attention to detail that really makes Edgcott House very, very special. Room was beautifully appointed with quality fixtures, made all the more special with aromatherapy products in the bathroom and freshly baked cake left in the room each day. The warm welcome and friendly atmosphere made us feel relaxed from the start. The food was perfect. We would recommend this very nice guest house.

From the moment we arrived, to the moment we left, we had nothing but friendly attentive service from the staff at the pub. We were fortunate to be upgraded from a room in the pub to one of the relatively new lodges. The lodge was immaculate on arrival and very comfortable and well equipped. We had breakfast included and this was first class with locally sourced food included. We had two evening dinners at the pub and both were excellent from the very varied menu on offer.

Lots of easy parking, set beside the river. Very quiet, great food - wonderfully crispy chips - fantastic choice of malt whiskeys. A lovely hotel with friendly staff. Certainly stay there again.

The hotel is situated in a beautiful, secluded and extremely picturesque location. Everything is about quality over quantity from the number of rooms to the very well prepared meals, which clearly use the best ingredients. Limited facilities, but this is part of the charm. The owners and waitress were always on hand to ensure satisfaction and are very friendly. Not suitable for younger children, which will suit many older people looking for a few days of tranquility away from busy lives.

Manageress went out of her way to make us welcome. Room was a fair size, clean with ample storage, small fridge and a good size ensuite with bath and separate shower. Only noise you can hear is the river flowing nearby and the birds at first light. Varied menu and expect good quality and service. Cosy and warm bar. Small hotel with ample parking close by. Highly recommended and will visit again.

The room was tidy and clean but a little tired in places , possibly due to a busy season. Breakfast was excellent , food in the bar was very good and prices were competitive . The ambience in the bar was good. The quiz was good fun. Excellent nights sleep . Overall very good

This was our second stay at the property. We received a warm welcome as usual and checked into our spacious family room. The hotel is clean but a little tired in places. We're happy to see that they are undertaking a refurbishment and look forward to seeing the results next year. The location is outstanding; a short walk from the beach and high street. This was just a stop over as we travelled to Devon but it was a lovely area and one we will consider again if we need to stop off. Chris and Sue were both very friendly, especially as we had to check in late. Breakfast is incredible! They were also incredibly accommodating for our little boy.

Sam and Annie are delightful hosts. The views are stunning, breakfast is top notch and the property is well located for the Tarka Trail and the restaurants in town

Obviously a conference centre/venue, but a good choice for business accommodation, with good parking and good value

Fantastic overnight stay. Made to feel very welcome upon arrival by the owner who then took us to a great vantage point to take in the stunning views whilst giving us a brief bit of background history surrounding the building. We took our dog who was welcomed greatly. The staff on site were pleasant and polite and on hand to assist with anything we needed. Breakfast was great. Can't wait to return later on in the year.

very clean and quiet room, nice soft towels, comfortable bed and a quiet fan was provided in the room as we stayed during a very hot spell. The owners were really friendly and helpful, and very kindly offered us the room for a couple of hours longer after check out as we were attending a funeral that morning and wanted to change afterwards. We really appreciated their thoughtfulness. Definitely recommend staying here.
