Small but sufficient

Pros: Great location to lots of sights.
Small room was sufficient for sleeping...but not a room you can lounge & relax in.

OK option in good location

Posted 27-Oct-2016
Pros: Hotel is in a good location for conferences across the street or offices nearby. Room service staff friendly and the facade/entryway to the hotel is pretty. Rooms are pretty clean but feel a little dated - not necessarily a quaint old hotel feel as much as it is dusty.
Cons: Arrived to check in at 3:20 and room still wasn't ready. Was treated rudely by the reception when pressed to see if they could get me in the room despite not being cleaned yet. Overpriced room service and bad quality. Asked to come down to front desk multiple times when they forgot to have me sign papers instead of brought to the room. nothing terrible, but considering the price per night this just isn't worth it. Small room - don't be fooled by the pretty exterior.

Pros: Boutique and historic hotel
Cons: The front desk staff was not very helpful or attentive. Bartender not very friendly or knowledgeable
Location: Location is perfect!! Close to everything
Love the city, the hotel was clean but staff customer service could be improved.

We enjoyed the fact that it was a historic hotel. Very quaint and boutique like hotel. However, we were disappointed with the hotel staff. They were extremely slow. The hotel bar left much to be desired. The bartender was not a qualified bar tender.

Pros: Middle of DC.
Cons: A working bathroom fan, updated furniture and a refrigerator.
Location: Bolt Burgers overprice, $24 for two burgers and two drinks, with no fries. Not much food within 3 blocks
Room was small and you could hear everything that happed in the hallway.

Convenient to Walter E. Vernon Convention Center

Posted 01-Oct-2016
Pros: Location to the Convention Centre
Cons: décor. Because it is a historic hotel, would be good to keep the theme of the old world charm décor.
Location: Convention Center, Mt. Vernon Square and up-market shops, walking distance to China Town.
Only one block from the Convention Center. Historic Hotel charm balbeit a little tired with the décor e.g. carpet etc. The room I was given needed a proper work desk. Free Wifi worked well - not slow like some other hotels' complimentary Wifi. The staff were friendly and charming except one female check-in staff. The bar and the restaurant food were very enjoyable.

First week of September , 2016

Posted 15-Sep-2016
The hotel is a very pretty small boutique hotel. Located 1 mile from the all the museums. The staff is friendly and accomadating. Perfect location. Near great shopping and restaurants. Able to walk everywhere. The first week of September was a perfect time to be there because the weather was perfect and no crowds.

No A/C in city heat!

Posted 11-Sep-2016
Unfortunately the first day of my stay I was not told, until I asked, that the air conditioning in the hotel had broken down. Next day I was transferred to another hotel across the street. They could have saved time and increased my comfort by doing that at check-in!!
