Drakesbad Guest Ranch

Drakesbad Guest Ranch

10/10 Excellent
"Drakesbad Guest Ranch is located in the remote Warren Valley, although it is part of Lassen Volcanic National Park. It is famous throughout northern CA as a place where families can vacation, setting the kids free to run through its gorgeous meadow, fish at Dream Lake, ride horses to Devil's Kitchen (volcanic mud pots) and hike back trails to Boiling Lake & beyond. A small paradise on earth, it was always booked at least a year in advance. After the devastating Dixie Fire which ran through the area (2nd largest fire in CA history), the area has now rebounded, the meadow as lush as ever, green pine trees still stand at lower elevations and you can see how quickly the forest is rebounding. Ranch staff are wonderfully friendly and helpful, the food is abundant and good. Please help this place to stay alive and thrive. The reward is golden meadows, gorgeous hikes, and stunning dark Milky Way skies."

"Lovely spot to enjoy home comforts while accessing the southwest entrance to Lassen Volcanic National Park. Nine miles to the entrance! Pay attention to your gas gauge! Top it off if you are coming in through Chester. Well stocked kitchen and bathroom items. Enjoyed both the front porch and the rear deck. Enjoyed the little community with evening walks."

"Beautiful spot. We had everything we needed for our stay. It was very clean, cozy, and family friendly! We appreciated that the cabin was close enough to drive to Lassen park entrance. Jill was super friendly, knowledgeable about the area, and flexible. Would definitely stay again!"

Beautiful 3bedroom house in Mineral/Pet and family Friendly/Lassen National Park

Beautiful 3bedroom house in Mineral/Pet and family Friendly/Lassen National Park

10/10 Excellent
"Our stay was just what we hoped - perfect in every way! Leslieann is an exceptional host and gave us helpful tips and showed us parts of what makes Mineral so special! We were a party of 9 (5 adults, 4 kids) and everything was comfortable. The towel supply was much appreciated. The house is as described, kitchen well equipped for everyday cooking and I must comment that the pull-out sleeper sofa is the most comfortable I have ever slept on!"

"Jodi gave our family my favorite VRBO experience yet. The location was perfect for us because it's not far from Redding/I-5 but provides easy access to Lassen and other natural attractions, It's an idyllic property on the rural chapparal country, complete with delightful farm animals and an absolutely beautiful private waterfall with a swimming hole below it. The house itself is lovely, clean and comfortable, with a phenomenal kitchen, which is also well equipped. Everything, including the hot tub, was in perfect working order. The seven of us fit very comfortably. Everything about this place is nice and well thought out. It's also really cool that the power is solar and the water is off-grid as well. But our hosts were the best thing about our experience. They were generous and welcoming, and happy to introduce us to the animals."
