good for a one night stay. good parking right out front. slightly dated building/decor and room but it was clean. kettle in room but no fridge or microwave. tv in room but didn’t work. comfy bed. easy to find but layout of property/buildings is strange. there is a building where reception can be found but our room was in a different building that didn’t have any sign indicating that that building had guest rooms in there. was provided self check in instructions however, our code didn’t work. we went to reception and they just gave us a key instead. thin walls and you can hear guests talking in the hallways or other rooms quite easily. that didn’t really bother us though, and for a one night stay, it was fine.

Free Breakfast
Located a short drive from Vik and the beach. Rooms were clean and had decent space for 2 people. Solid construction, windy night and had no trouble with noise/sleeping. Best part was that they had a free breakfast, eggs, sausage, etc. Would definitely stay here again.

Great Accommodation! Our room was spacious, very clean and modern furnishings. Beds were very comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant staff were fantastic and the food was amazing! Would definitely recommend to others and I will stay here again.

The most comfy bed
Great little hotel in quiet location with the most comfortable bed we've ever slept in! Perfectly clean , delicious breakfast. Would highly recommend and will definitely book again next time in Iceland 🇮🇸

This was an absolutely fabulous hotel! The staff went out of their way to help us. The rooms are a good size, clean and the backdrop of mountains is beautiful. The best hotel we have stayed at in Iceland so far!

We left our tablet in our room and didn’t even know it until they called to let us know. They drove the tablet all the way to Reykjavik to the hotel we were staying at later in our trip. Above and beyond great service!

My husband and I had a great stay at Hotel Burfell. The room was very nice and comfortable and clean. The bathroom was a nice size and the shower hot. We dined at the restaurant and had a delicious vegetarian home cooked meal and an exceptional breakfast was included with many options. The staff was really nice and communicated with me via email before I arrived. Very close to Vik and the glacier and waterfall hikes.

The positives of this property are its geographic beauty, and a lovely high hike able hill in back, overlooking the coast, all near a lovely area. Puffins, and a fairly nice small town are about 10-15 minutes. The property is an old farm (?) that they are adding buildings with rental rooms to. The hotel rooms were fine, clean and generally comfortable (we had 2 rooms). I hope they invest in basic small refrigerators for the rooms to make it possible as a tourist to keep even a leftover meal overnight. The big turn off is the main building and check in is connected to a structure that is literally crumbling and abandoned. (broken windows, crumbling walls etc) My first impression was of a building that should be actually knocked down. Once inside the check in/dining area, it is clean, and staff is nice. However, the impression of actual crumbling blight is a huge turn off.

Amazing breakfast buffet: eggs, bacon, cereals, breads, jams… also a very good restaurant: fresh and yummy cod, big portion. Very clean and spacious room. Amazing view of the icefield.

It’s ok if you are cruising through Iceland and need a place to stay for a night . Unfortunately at our time they didn’t Server any dinner so we had to drive to Vik .
