Nice quiet hotel in peacefull area

Posted 08-Oct-2016
Pros: The setting in the square was very pretty and being just off from the road was easy to find. There was no traffic noise as it is a quiet Island.
Cons: The breakfast was quite sweet as in there was a choice of cakes available didnt know that we could ask for boiled eggs, and the coffee could be warmer
Location: Pretty walk on the front loads of bicycles for hire and a safe place to ride them. Easy access to the water bus for the islands and venice.
Very pretty unspoilt area within the local community. The staff were only to willing to help and pass on advice, they provided a courtesy bus every day in the morning to the town, but if for whatever reason you missed the bus there was a regular local bus service just a stones throw from the hotel at 1.50 euro a trip or covered by a 2 or 3 day water bus pass. The trip to the water bus station was very straightforward .Very peaceful and pretty waters edge but we were bitten to death by the local midges, so my suggestion is cover up in the evenings. We went to their sister hotel for food twice just a ten minute walk up the road. They provided us with a 20% discount card for the first night, then a 10% one the second night. It was a good standard of food.

Something for the heart

The hotel is a gem. Not luxurious but really special. Easily accessible by bus ( once you know which one to take and where to get off). The dining room takes us to the past. The breakfast is basic but nice. Just close your eyes and enjoy!

Very highly recommended Lido Hotel

Posted 23-Jul-2016
I cannot speak highly enough about Ca' Alberti. The hotel is absolutely delightful, full of venetian charm. We had 2 rooms on the 1st floor of the main building (think we had the best room), with good size bedroom, a lounge, good size bathroom with double shower & balcony. The bed was a very good size & aircon in the room was a godsend. All the walls were covered in material rather than paper/ paint, giving a very real flavour of plushness. The other room was a twin & was very large indeed, again boasting a sitting area & views over the church/square. There was a lovely courtyard area with a large seating area, there was also a covered outdoor area to eat breakfast. The continental breakfast was ample & tasty, with pastries, cheese, bread, cakes, fruit and yoghurt. My only real criticisms were that the coffee & hot water for tea was not very warm at breakfast, & no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. However when I asked again boiling water for tea was provided, and every morning after. Having an arrangement with Ca del Moro we got to make use of the swimming pool at this nearby hotel. Again immaculate and a welcome break from the heat. My biggest praise has to go to the staff. They could not have been more helpful. In particular a young chap who was so so lovely to us. He told me he was relatively new to the hotel, but indeed is a fantastic asset to the hotel. A complementary shuttle & regular bus provides excellent access to lido and Venice.

Historic hotel on Lido

Posted 18-Jul-2016 on Hotels
Lovely hotel. Full of history and beautiful. A continental breakfast was provided. But no other facilities at the hotel. There a couple of local bars and a good restaurant. We made use of the swimming pool which is a 10 minute walk to another hotel. There is a good free shuttle bus connecting the hotel with the waterbus stop and the bus stop is very close for the rest of Lido. The beaches are both a bus ride away but very clean and nice. Be prepared to use the hotel as a base and journey out from it. But if you want a hotel that is in a relaxed, quiet area this is for you.

Excellent value for money, 1 st class service

Posted 26-Sep-2015
Pros: Staff in general Service History.built in the 1400's Free internet service Air conditioning in the rooms Easy access from bus stop
Cons: Every channel on the room tv was in Italian ( I checked every one and there were loads) Just as well I took my I Pad
Location: Location was a small residential village situated at the southern part of the Lido Only thing to do was go for walks, but SME was a bit more busier.
Planned a Venice city break along with a beach holiday over 6 days. Found the hotel relatively easily (directions could be a bit better) two minutes walk from the bus stop. Hotel located in a very quiet area with only the church bells disturbing the peace 07.30 am and 19.30 pm each day. Bus service excellent running the length of the Lido every 10 minutes or so. Hotel staff at all levels were friendly and helpful, rooms and en suite bathroom spotless. Breakfast was as one would expect with a choice of cereals, yogurts, cheese and ham with croissants and rolls, choice of fruit juices finished off with a choice of coffees, more than ample to get the day started. Service bus took 10 - 15 mins to get to S M Elizabeth (transfer port) and the water bus took 20 mins to get to St Marks Square. Journey from the airport to SME took 1 hour by water bus, it was more scenic and considerably cheaper than the speeding water taxis.Restaurants were considerable cheaper in SME compared to Venice but we ate well and prices compare favourably with the UK for food and beverages. All in all a good enjoyable experience, but you do need the weather for a beach break as there is not a lot to do once you have explored Venice.

Quiet & peaceful...

Posted 28-Aug-2015 on Hotels
The hotel truly resonates its history. My 9 y/o & I were travelling Italy & came across this little hotel away from the busy tourist area of Venice. We were able to use the pool facility of their sister hotel (10 min away). Bus access was easy. Hotel is clean & staff (esp. Joselyn & Alexa) were friendly...I won't forget being greeted by Rosanna! She was great at making us comfortable & was approachable. Thank you. We had a good time!
