Overall good hotel, staff very friendly and helpful. Personally, the only recommendation would be beds, not terrible but could use an upgrade. I would definitely stay here again.

Very clean & comfortable room with housekeeping doing excellent work daily. The front desk staff was extremely kind & helpful, specifically Alessandro who truly went out of his way to share recommendations. He helped us with meal, local travel & sites to visits along with a daily “Italian word of the day” to help us in our adventures. He truly offered excellent customer service & was a true asset to the hotel stay. THANK YOU SO MUCH ALESSANDRO & rest of San Carlo staff for a wonderful week. We can’t wait to return.

Decent hotel. Quiet. A/C works great. Water preassure is strong. Only shampoo and liquid soap are available. Wish the rooms have tea maker. The breakfast mostly consist of pastures, which are fresh and delicious. Eggs, salami, cheese, butter, yogurt, hot tea and coffee are also served. Staff very friendly and helpful. Trolley and bus tickets are available to purchase at check-in counter.

Very nice people at desk. Amenities are null but good enough for just sleeping. Bathroom super small but if you are not too picky, this hotel serves well. We did have to walk up 2 flights of stairs with our bags since the lift was not working when we were there. This is an older building.

For the price per night, we were disappointed that the A/C didn’t work in one of our rooms, we were on the third floor but the elevator was out of operation, and we couldn’t connect to the WiFi (this was a problem because we wanted to download movies for our long flight home the next day). The positives were that the staff was friendly, we were only 12 minutes drive from the Marco Polo airport, and it was a three minute walk to the team/bus which took us into the heart of Venice for shopping and touring. Purchasing the public transportation pass at the hotel was totally worth it. If the hotel can update a few things and keep up the friendly service, it would be worth staying…

Lovely hotel with welcoming staff. Rooms are a good size and very adequately furnished. It has an elevator which was good news. The hotel is in a fabulous position to get the tram straight over to Venice and a 15 minute or so walk to Mestre itself which is a lovely town to visit and eat out etc. Very easy to get around with buses and trams and vaporetto's which is very cheap with the Venice Unica pass https://www.veneziaunica.it/en/content/how-it-works costs €20 for day 1, then €10 per day thereafter. It is nice to stay out of the hussle and bussle and tourism trap of Venice where lots of friendly locals live and there is also a nice little friendly bar a couple of doors away! I would definitely return to this hotel for visiting Venice

It was not far from bus station and also the tram stop for our Venice hotel. Friendly staff and friendly service. Good breakfast.

Non speaking Italians visiting first time
Personnel seem to get irritated for any questions you have. I felt like I was bothering them asking any questions. I could not figure out how to turn on the lights and the lady seems pissed at me for not knowing to put the room door card into a device on the wall to activate the lights. The man at the desk the next day was really friendly and allowed us to store our luggage for a few hours after checkout for FREE. This saved us at least 40euros. What a guy, he chatted with us and asked where we were from. Met the lady again that after when we picked up the luggage, same attitude. I

The breakfast is completely joke - nothing much for eat...In 1star hotel make better breakfast. Rooms are ok. Location is cool

Dear Guest, we absolutely do not agree with his description of the breakfast. It is a continental breakfast much more provided than other hotels of our same category. We don't know what you eat at home, of course, you don't have to have lunch here. 3 types of bread, cold cuts, cheese, 3 types of brioches, boiled eggs, 2 types of juice, American coffee and espresso coffee for free, 4 types of biscuits, fresh fruits ,cereals, jams etc ...... we are sorry not to have met your needs but maybe it's not the kind of hotel that's right for you. regards

Won't take credit card on-site.
Overall it is a good hotel, but they won't take credit card on-site like the others. I was requested to pay the city taxes when I checked out but they would only take cash, depends on how long and how many people in the room. So, if for a family of 4 , make sure you have at least $50 Euro of cash on hand when you check out.
