"Love this hotel! AMAZING for the price and super c"
I checked in to the Deca only to have a place close to the University of Washington Medical Center, as I had an early morning procedure to be at and live 3 hours away. I was greeted by an extremely friendly gal at the front desk who covered everything about the room, hotel and area without me even asking. She then gave me complimentary parking which is normally $20 per night as a courtesy since my stay was less than 24 hours long. I arrived in my room and within 15 minutes was greeted by a phone call by the front desk asking if everything was to my liking or if I had any questions. I had an 8th floor King Bed room right off the elevator and was absolutely in love with the decor, the cleanliness, the ambience and amenities in the room. There was nothing about it with the exception of absence of an in room coffee maker that I did not like. I enjoyed a fantastic meal of fish and chips and a margarita from the restaurant who arrived less than 20 minutes after I placed the order. I went in and out twice to my car in the parking lot and was greeted each time by the front desk asking if I'd like a bottle of water each time. I slept well, had no disturbances and was extremely happy with my overall experience. The bathroom walls were so thin that I could hear my neighbors full conversation which was not a big deal to me. I just turned on my ipod music while I was in the bathroom at any time. I did not experience this noise isuue inside of the actual room though, just the bathroom. I w
We were first given a room on the 2nd floor on the street side. We asked to be moved to the 4th floor on the inner side. I highly recommend asking for a higher room because the traffic noise is high and the people in the room over us were loud. However, once we moved to the top floor, everything was excellent. And the room smelled better. The staff was very gracious about granting our request to change rooms.
With about 40,000 students, the University of Washington is the area's lifeblood. The campus includes a world-class medical center, the Burke Museum, and Henry Art Gallery. UW's main square offers a clear view of Mount Rainier. West of UW, a Lenin statue watches over Fremont, which bills itself as “The Center of the Universe.” Fremont's low-rise shops and cafés resemble Berkeley and Old New York.
