Very friendly staff.

I am disappointed with my recent Expedia booking experience and the way this situation was handled. Prior to my arrival, I was notified that my reservation would be moved to accommodate my delayed baggage. I was specifically assured by an Expedia customer service representative that the necessary arrangements had been made and that the issue would be resolved when I arrived at Hotel Riu Palace Swahili. However, upon arrival, I was informed by the hotel that no such accommodation had been arranged. As a result, I paid an additional $595 out of pocket. What made this experience even more frustrating was the constant back-and-forth between Expedia and the hotel throughout the entire day. Despite numerous conversations, no one took ownership of the situation, and there was no meaningful resolution. Instead of enjoying my vacation, I spent valuable time dealing with stress, uncertainty, and unnecessary complications which impacted the trip negatively. As an Expedia Platinum member, I expected a much higher standard of service, communication, and support. I trusted the assurances provided by Expedia’s customer service team, but the outcome was completely different from what I was promised. I am requesting a thorough investigation into this matter and a review of the handling of my case. Given my Platinum membership, the additional financial burden, and the significant inconvenience caused, I would appreciate direct follow-up from management and an appropriate resolution. Thanks

We had a lovely and memorable stay at Upendo Beach Boutique Hotel. The location is simply beautiful, with breathtaking views and a peaceful ambiance. The staff were exceptional—especially Theo, who was incredibly helpful and welcoming throughout our stay. Although I made an error in my booking by reserving the two-bedroom villa for only two adults, the hotel management showed great understanding. They kindly offered a generous solution by asking us to cover only 50% of the additional amount, which we truly appreciated. The villa itself was spacious, clean, and beautifully designed. The entire property is well-maintained and provides a wonderful boutique experience. One recommendation: it would be great if a pool heater could be added, as the water can be quite chilly in July. Overall, we enjoyed our time very much and thank the team for their hospitality!

The hotel is amazing. It's beautiful, and the food, pool, beach, and activities are all incredible. But the best part is the people. The staff is so kind and friendly, always ready to help. I've never experienced hospitality like this before.
