"Fantastic stay for our family. The owner, Scott, was a perfect host and made us feel welcome. The food was excellent and the rooms well maintained and clean. It was an ideal location too for any site seeing near Galway. Highly recommended. We'll be back!"

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Claregalway Hotel. The entire place was immaculately clean and very well kept. Our room was large and very comfortable. We ate dinner here despite arriving quite late and it was delicious, breakfast was the best we had whilst travelling round Ireland. All staff we met were very friendly and nothing too much trouble. Would 100% recommend. Thanks for a great stay!

Derek the host was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was on the small side and the bathroom was tiny but ok for a couple of nights. Breakfast was very good. Would certainly recommend but would try to book a different room next time

The Hotel was so lovely, Our only complaint was that on the 2 nights we stayed there breakfast was stipulated to be from 8am to 11am, but on the Sunday morning it wasn't available till 8.45am and on the Monday it was after 9.00am. Not very good service when you are on a tight schedule

Hotel is ideally situated to avoid city centre traffic, free parking and an easy 25 min walk to all attractions or a taxi. The staff were friendly and very helpful. We ate in the bar/restaurant both nights and the food was excellent as were the breakfast. Will definitely stay again when we return to Galway

We found the hotel clean, modern and well laid out. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful without exception. Our room was comfortable and served our purposes perfectly. The restaurants were so good we only ate in the hotel and didn't feel the need to eat elsewhere. Very happy customer

We spent a night in Glenlo Abbey and we are glad that we did, the hotel is beautiful. Set within the grounds of their golf course you are surrounded by greenery. Inside the hotel is lavishly decorated whilst retaining a cosy feel. The staff could not have been more helpful and the food served in the Fine Dining Pullman restaurant was different and tasty

Room was very warm despite heating being off, not usually an issue but as we were at the front of the hotel
having the window open meant we had a lot of traffic noise from the very busy road.
comfy bed with mattress and pillow protectors nice deep bath. Free wifi good enough to stream a movie without buffering.

Really fantastic little spot that I would go back to and definitely recommend. Very clean and comfortable, shared bathroom included. The kitchen area was a great addition and the staff were really friendly. The property has recently been done up so is all fresh and modern. Highly recommend

Great modern rooms above a constantly busy bar. Much nicer than the website portrays, I was happily surprised and will definitely stay here when I come back to Galway. 10 min walk to Eyre square is definitely better than the 3 minute (€9!!!!!!) taxi trip.

We normally book a hotel for our trips but prices in the Galway area were very high at the time of our visit as there was a music festival in progress. There are just three guest rooms all on the upper floor of the property. Each room has en-suite facilities. Our own room also had a vanity suite within the room. Our room was well maintained and spotlessly clean. The decor is very much in the style of a private house rather than a hotel. Guests also have use of a lounge downstairs with a multi...

Excellent stay at the Nest. Very comfortable bed with 2 good pilllows, great shower and big towels, little fridge in the room with hangers and full length mirror. The staff downstairs were helpful and check in was quick. Decent kitchen downstairs where you can help yourself to water, tea and coffee. Two bus stops nearby outside where busses to town are regular and takes around 10 minutes to Eyre Square. The only minor thing was there is no hairdryer but I didn't expect there to be. I would...

The best area to stay in Turloughmore is typically in the surrounding countryside, as Turloughmore itself is a small village without extensive accommodation options.
For those seeking a tranquil retreat with easy access to rural Ireland, staying in a guesthouse or a self-catering cottage just outside the village offers a peaceful setting. These accommodations often provide spacious grounds, views of the rolling green landscape, and a chance to experience the local pace of life. You'll find yourself close to nature, with opportunities for walks along quiet country lanes.
Couples looking for a relaxing escape will appreciate the serenity of these rural accommodations. Many offer bespoke services and a personal touch, making for a memorable stay away from the hustle and bustle. The focus here is on comfort and quiet enjoyment, often with homemade breakfasts and local hospitality.
Families might also find these countryside options appealing, particularly self-catering cottages, which offer more space and flexibility.
When is the best time to go to Turloughmore?
The best time to visit Turloughmore, County Galway, is during the summer months, from June to August, when the weather is generally at its finest.
During summer, you'll experience the longest daylight hours, with the sun often setting late into the evening. This gives you more time to explore the beautiful surrounding countryside, including the nearby Claregalway Abbey or the expansive fields of the Turloughmore area. It's a great time for outdoor activities like walking or cycling the quiet country roads.
Couples looking for a relaxing getaway will find these months ideal. The warmer temperatures and lower chance of rain make it great for enjoying a leisurely drive through the scenic routes of County Galway or visiting local pubs for traditional Irish music sessions without the chill of the off-season.
For families, the summer also offers the best conditions for exploring the wider region. You could easily take a day trip to the coast, perhaps to Salthill in Galway City, or venture further to the Cliffs of Moher, all under more pleasant weather conditions.
