"It is a no brainer to stay at this gorgeous Hotel in the country. We stayed in the Ruins building off to the side of the main building, large room, very comfy, with stunning grounds. The dinner and breakfast were awesome and staff exceptional. It was like staying in Downton Abbey, not that we have, but it felt like it!"

"The Carton house is about 45 minutes from the airport and 30 minutes from Dublin. The grounds are lovely. The walk to Town is about 30 minutes and well worth it as there are other historical sites to visit in the town. The interior of the Carton house is modern but historical features remain throughout. Make sure you make dinner reservations well before you get there as the restaurants on property fill up quickly. The activities should also be booked well in advance. Many we wished to do were already booked out. We wanted to do the falcon lessons and whiskey tasting but they were not available. The horseback riding was quite fun and about 20 minutes away by taxi.
