Hotel was undergoing much-needed renovations but really should have closed for the duration. Carpets pulled up and fresh paint on walls and doors, workmen working throughout the downstairs all week. Strong smells of paint, not a very relaxing environment. The breakfast service was dated, hot food in dishes covered with tin foil and a few fruit flavoured yoghurts and cereal. only one server on for breakfast each morning, too much for her to handle.
The restaurant menu is eactly the same as 2 other local hotels, all owned by the same group. I ordered Chicken Curry and basmati rice, I got wet long grain rice and a huge bowl of curry sauce with about 4 giant lumps of chicken. The poppadom was sitting in the middle of the sauce so completely soggy. A very disappointing stay overall
