It was nice to look out at the fog on the mountains. The hotel was up quite a steep hill, however. It might not be good for someone who cannot do that climb. It’s clean, the staff were very friendly and the restaurant’s food was fabulous. Car parking was on the street which was a bit difficult, and it was about a mile outside of downtown. We arrived several hours early and we’re told we could not check in until 3 - it’s the only place we couldn’t check in early, but it’s possible the room was not ready, so that’s not a big deal. It was obvious that we would go explore, especially since the waterfall is across the street. We paid admission to the waterfall and museum while we waited only to find out the hotel gives a free admission pass to those to their guests. We stayed in this delightful family run hotel in Triberg for the night. The proprietors were so very helpful on our arrival and provided us with uncover parking for the motorcycle. We had a ground floor room in the annex building with a beautiful view of the town from the wonderful balcony area. The bed was very comfortable with crisp fresh linen and fluffy pillows. The bathroom was small but comfortable with good water pressure for the shower. The hotel is well maintained and the garden and courtyard make for a relaxing place to unwind. The room was very nice with a comfortable bed and separate seating area. The windows fully opened to a gorgeous view over town. With the windows open you could hear the birds singing and the river flowing close by. Very close to downtown, walkable to many shops and a trail to the waterfall is right outside the door (up the steps across the street). We enjoyed a buffet style breakfast in the morning with many excellent food and drink options.
