One of our favourite Hotels

Posted 05-Apr-2016
Pros: Food, atmosphere and friendliness of all the staff we encountered
Cons: Hot tub. I also would have loved a tub in the bathroom
Location: The views from the hotel are simply amazing! It is also cClose to the Reef Aquarium and also to the ferry station to go to Magnetic Island.
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our recent visit to the Ville. One this trip we had the lunch buffet at the Aqua, and we were totally impressed. The staff w amazing and the food was excellent. We loved the pool (although the hot tub was not hot). We had room service, and again, they did not disappoint. Thanks to all the management and staff.

Worst stay of my life

Posted 07-Mar-2016
Pros: large room, cleanliness, room amenities
Cons: Free wifi, it is outrageous having to pay for wifi these days and it did not even work properly. About time Australia entered the 21st century
Location: Awful. Absolutely nothing to do.
we have stayed at The Ville Resort Casino in Townsville from 27th February 2016 to 2nd march 2016 and it was a complete disaster. When we checked-in we were told that the hotel was undergoing refurbishment: great news! Had we known we would have certainly NOT booked. When I started complaining about not being told, we were assured that the works were being carried out away from our room. Being Saturday afternoon and Sunday the next day, no noise was heard as they were not working over the week end. The wifi (which we had to pay extra for) was working whenever it liked. The third day (Monday) we were woken up by drilling above our room. Needless to say we ended up going out (although we had planned to stay in the room and work) as the noise was unbearable. When I called reception to ask to be moved to another room we were told that it would have been the same as the work were being carried along the whole floor. The fourth day (Tuesday) again drilling on our heads, this time it was so loud we had to get out of the room immediately. I could not work anywhere as I could not access wifi (I had paid for) in the room until 5pm when the works stopped. I could make no use of the room until that time which was extremely annoying as I had to sit in the lobby with other people and the noise of the casino on the ground floor. Also, I understand there is no concierge in a four star hotel, but some concierge service is expected by the reception staff: very little help there...

Was really nice hotel, but very disappointed in the "FREE" Wifi! You only get one free hour a day. Not what it said in the hotels.com ad! Kind of hard to communicate with the US when you only have one free hour a day unless you pay! when you pay that those kind of prices for a hotel I expect to have free wifi all day everyday I stay there. There wasn't even free wifi in the hotel lobby for guest? Also would of been nice to know that rooms where being renovated above us, maybe I would of chose somewhere a little more centrally located too and less noisy.

Great location and rooms.

Pros: Room and view was good. Kobe was good however I ordered at 7:45pm and they had no lamb left. Poor organisation again.
Cons: More music in the Lobby bar to midnight.
Location: Casino, Pier restaurant was good.
The Lobby bar opposite reception really needs to be staffed better and some more atmosphere. There also needs to be more of a variety of drinks. A few of the ladies who I was there with were unable to get the drinks they wanted. Also given that the Guy Sebastian concert was on it was poorly staffed and people were waiting 6 deep in line for a drink. Surely some planning would work here.

Great renovation

Posted 08-Feb-2016 on Wotif
Pros: Rooms, staff, view, restaurant, location
Cons: The air-conditioner in room 1022 was leaking on the carpet. This may have been due to the exceptionally high heat and humidity, but needs repair
Location: It is a perfect start to my day to walk/swim along the strand, followed by a great omelette and coffee taking in the view from the restaurant
Always stay here due to location, price and view. With the renovation, this is now even more certain.

received an upgrade in room to executive suite so very happy with this. Overall quality and cleanliness was excellent and the place is now far better that it was many years ago. Highly recommended

I always enjoy staying at the Oasis. Staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is looking a little tired but it's very comfortable

Hotel situated well close to everything.

Posted 04-Feb-2016 on Wotif
Pros: The position... very quite!
Cons: No!
Location: I enjoy walking so it was close to everything. I had hired a car so travelling to airport was convenient.
The staff were all professional and kind. My room was amazing and very clean.
