Tho small - about the size of a modest Japanese hotel room - the bed is comfy, the bathroom is nicely-sized and pristine, and there's enough amenity to be overall relaxing and restful. For a brief downtown stay, this place is ideal. You have to climb a flight of narrow stairs to get to check-in, which is little more than a stand in a hallway, with a helpful attendant with a laptop behind it. They helpfully showed my to my room, straightaway. The room itself was just fine. Not very big, but enough room to easily maneuver. It would likely be tight for two, but it was great for one. It also was pleasingly clean and in good shape. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and although I faced Queen Street, the room was quiet, with no outside noise. Room was small, but has modern style and lots of storage. Large tv. Cramped toilet/shower area if you are not a thin person. Shower floor was slippery, I stood on a towel to get some traction. Check-in and rooms are on the second floor, and there is no elevator. My room was close to the heavy entrance door, which slams loudly. Other rooms further away wouldn't hear it as much. There is one service elevator, but apparently it is only operational 8am - 8pm. The security and customer service were excellent and 24 access to your room. The room was clean and cozy and very warm for the cold December night. We checked in a half hour early with no problems. The staff was always on site in case we needed anything. I enjoyed that we had a code to get into the building easily, which made it feel safe and secure (three doors after hours: entry door, door to each floor and the room door all requiring the code). There were many places to eat around the hotel and it was a quick 20 minute walk to Scotiabank arena and union station. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Toronto that doesn’t require parking and will be doing many activities. This hotel doesn’t require the extra cost for features that we don’t often use when visiting a hotel (I.e., the pool, breakfast area, etc).
