"Nice small room - well-equipped. No air-conditioning but there was a fairly elderly fan. Very friendly welcome from the young man at reception. We did not eat in the hotel but the pub downstairs looked inviting"

"First room we stay was next to a very busy road so if you are like me and prefer a quiet night sleep then i would recommend to put in requests un before you arrive. Rooms was lovely decorated however the cleaning was quite poor a lot of dust not sure if that was living up to living in a paddock but could do with some attention. While food was nice, not a lot of choice and was rather expensive but there is lot of eating places in the down centre. Staff very helpful throughout our stay but seem to be very busy juggling different roles so at times there were a bit of a weight. Room could do with having a phone or few extra amenities such aa iron or even having tea spoons for making a hot drink and some milk rather than having to go down to reception making staff work even harder."

"We enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn Swindon. OK externally it’s looking a little tired and dated and needing some TLC, but putting that to one side, it has several plus points worthy of note not the least of which was the competitive price for a one night stay. Internally the place is neat and tidy and clean. Our room was fine. The bathroom was small but the Grohe shower - a personal favourite of mine - worked well. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. It even had a window that you could open which isn’t a certainty in many hotels. Plus a fan to help during the current heatwave. We only stayed one night but our interaction with the staff went well. They all seemed happy in what they were doing and were more than competent. Staff in the restaurant especially went out of their way to be friendly and ensure things were as they should be. The breakfast in particular represented excellent VFM. Surely, no one passes up on this opportunity to start the day with everything you could want for less than the cost of two cups of coffee. Location wise, it’s a short distance off the M4, and is a ten minute walk to Coate Water Country Park which has got a circular walk which was great for exercising the dog. This is highly recommended. All things considered, it was a positive experience and if I’m looking to break up a journey from the far SW to London is something I would likely repeat. We didn’t use the swimming pool but I can imagine that would be another positive feature"

"The staff were friendly, breakfast was good. The only issue was there was only 1 out of the 2 lifts in operation, so it was busy."

"The room I had was clean & comfortable the bar & restaurant staff were friendly. The hotel overall is a bit worn out & could do with refitting/decorating. No fridge in the room which I really noticed in the warm weather. My son had a second room with no fridge or aircon."

"We stayed 2 nights. Room was clean. The bathroom needs to be spruced up a little, tiling wasn't great. There was tea and coffee making facilities and the best thing was, we had a fan. Towels were provided as were hand and body soap, tissues. Outside could do with a gardener. Flower beds full of weeds. Plenty of free parking. Staff were pleasant. We had a nice view of the rabbits."
