Thomond Park

Thomond Park featuring a river or creek and a city

Home of Munster Rugby Football Club, Thomond Park is renowned all over the world for its sporting history and incredible match-day atmosphere.

Extensively redeveloped in 2008, the stadium in Limerick has hosted countless sporting and entertainment events that have helped turn it into a world-class multi-purpose venue.

When it comes to rugby the stadium, which has a capacity of 25,630, is famed for its deafening noise during play and its complete silence when home and away players are kicking for goal.

In the Heineken Cup, Europe’s premier club competition, Thomond Park has been a fortress - Munster were the proud holders of an unbeaten 12-year, 26-match run that was eventually brought to an end by Leicester Tigers in 2007. New Zealand and Australia have also fallen victim to Munster in unforgettable matches at the iconic stadium.

Thomond Park is popular in the world of show business too, with the likes of Elton John, Rod Stewart, Bob Dylan and P!nk among the renowned artistes who have taken to the stage on the hallowed turf.

Visitors can go behind the scenes and gain access to areas normally only reserved for players and officials by joining a stadium tour. These allow you to take a seat in the home and away dressing rooms and walk down the tunnel, giving rugby fans the chance to get an idea of how players feel on big match days.

The club’s sporting heritage can be relived at a stadium museum and there is also an interactive game zone.
