"The room was marginal in terms of being clean. The fitness center appeared to not have been vacuumed in some time, plus there were no towels in the rack that had the word "towels" under it. And the clock was not working - new battery? I got in tmy room shower and realized that none of the dispersers worked - so I took a shower with no soap/shampoo. When I went to the front desk and asked about it, I was told they were not working and being replaced, but there was no sign indicating that fact - hence a shower with no soap. The heating/cooling unit appeared to work, but I could not tell how to set it as the labels were missing on two of the settings so not sure what they did. The grill on the heating unit was gross - looked like someone spilled coffee all over it. I use stairs to go from one floor to the next, so the fact the stairs had not been recently vacuumed was obvious. Our room was maybe vacuumed, but it was not done very thoroughly. When I checked out, I was not given a receipt but told I would receive one by email - did not happen. I wanted a receipt because this was clearly a case of the hotel did not come anywhere close to my expectations and what I had to pay for the room (I think the rate was jacked up because Furman graduation.) Should I go on? Bottom line, this was probably my worst hotel experience ever."
Holiday Inn Express & Suites Greenville - Downtown by IHG
10/10 Excellent
"Easy to get to, very clean, the staff were very helpful and friendly. I had a standard room with a king size bed, which was set up very nice. The shower was nice and the water got warm and hot very quickly. There was a full breakfast buffet available, which varied a little bit day by day. Lots of items available to eat and drink. The dining area was nice and lighting was bright. I stayed here seven nights and will likely come back here again if I come back to Greenville."
"From valet to check-in, room entry to roominess, and breakfast to checkout, my experience here was near flawless with the exception of no dining on Sunday nights"
"I had a pleasant stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. Room was nice and clean and I had a city view, which was great. The only downside (and it's not that extreme) was their breakfast. It wasn't bad but just not may choices. I just prefer hot breakfast if I'm going to eat. I would definitely stay again."
