Great nights stay at The Vanguard, very clean and tidy, everything we needed really, would definitely recommend.

Friendly and very helpful staff, very convenient only 5 minutes to walk into York town . Could do with a bigger car parking facilities.

We stayed at Diamonds Inn for 2 nights during our York visit. Best part of the hotel is location, within walking distance to York walls, minster, shambles market, and restaurants. Our family room was very spacious, clean, tidy, well maintained. Overall it was an excellent stay.

only stayed one night, friendly attentive staff, 15 minute walk to the centre for the shopping, restaurant and bar areas. We will certainly be booking again soon but next time for a 3 day break

We have read other reviews regarding this hotel some of them not very complimentary frankly they are obviously deranged. Our experience was excellent, the hotel was clean, the rooms comfortable with everything we needed for our stay. Very friendly hosts, family room was very good and spacious for 2 adults and 2 children. Breakfast was amazing and set us all up for a day at York maze. Would highly recommend and the location was quite good to. Onsite parking at the back was really good 👍

Fantastic accommodation in a perfect location. Fran & Jamie are most welcoming and attentive to all needs. Our room was spotlessly clean & tastefully furnished. There were two mince pies left in our room for us on arrival, a lovely festive gesture. Breakfast was delicious, absolutely anything you could ask for, along with freshly baked bread of which the aroma filled the Hotel first thing in the morning. A very traditional bed and breakfast guest house. The room was excellent with probably the best hotel bed for comfort I have ever stayed in. It was immaculately clean. The breakfast was a very traditional English breakfast; cooked and served promptly with care and attention to detail. Extra toast and orange juice offered without prompting. I love the design of the Indigo hotels and this one is no different. Staff very friendly. Location good with lots of bars, restaurants and independent shops nearby. (The Spanish restaurant across the road is really friendly as we popped in for a glass of fizz. ) would definitely recommend it

Great location and price. Full of character very welcoming and comfy. Considering the age of the building they have managed the space and updated the hotel with modern facilities. Personal touches of tea coffee and biscuits and toiletries,hairdryer etc. Included breakfast was fresh and good in choice of cereals fresh fruit toasts jams and many varieties of cooked breakfasts to your liking. Overall great value for money and centre location for town exploring.

If you're after a comfortable stay in a clean hotel close to York town centre, this could be for you. We stopped overnight and had a very pleasant stay, in clean accomodation. The only slight disappointment was breakfast wasn't available. No big deal though and probably a result of Omicron. Recommended

We had a lovely stay at Marmadukes. The staff are really friendly and helpful, and when we had a problem with our room we were moved straight away without any fuss. It's a beautiful building and in a great location from which to discover York. Would definitely recommend!
