The best area to stay in Tha Pla is generally near the main road that runs through the district, particularly around the central market area.

This area offers the most convenience for visitors, with local eateries and small shops clustered together. It's the hub of daily life, where you'll find the most activity and access to local amenities. While Tha Pla isn't a large tourist destination, this central strip provides the best options for accommodation and dining.

For those seeking a quiet escape and a connection with nature, the areas closer to the Sirikit Dam reservoir offer a more secluded experience. Here, you'll find guesthouses and bungalows with views of the water and surrounding hills, ideal for couples looking for a tranquil retreat.

The best time to go to Tha Pla is during the cooler, dry season, which typically runs from November to February. This period offers the most pleasant weather for exploring the region.

During these months, you'll experience lower humidity and comfortable temperatures, usually ranging from 20°C to 30°C. This makes outdoor activities, such as visiting local markets or exploring the surrounding natural areas, much more enjoyable. It's an excellent time for couples or families who prefer to avoid the intense heat and heavy rainfall.

The rainy season, from May to October, brings higher humidity and frequent downpours, which can sometimes disrupt travel plans or make outdoor excursions less comfortable. The hot season, from March to April, sees temperatures soar, often exceeding 35°C, which can be quite challenging for those not accustomed to intense heat.
