"Wonderful place to stay in Kerikeri - ideally located near the historic end of town in close proximity to lovely walking tracks, sites of interest, and the plough and feather (a lovely gastropub). Beautiful property that makes you feel like you are up in the trees with tūī flitting outside the window and lovely views over the bush valley. We had an enjoyable three night stay. Friendly and helpful hosts.
Our unit had a large comfortable bed, a sofa and a table and two chairs.
Separate en suite shower and toilet room. Plenty of hot water.
Small kitchenette with fridge, two-ring hob, microwave, toaster, kettle, sink, crockery, cutlery, saucepans, frying pan and utensils.
Table and two chairs outside on a small deck in a garden area.
Parking right outside the unit.

Great location, just a few minutes walk into town. The receptionist was very helpful on our arrival. It was a lovely little unit, with a patio and chairs out front. The whole site is impeccable. Unfortunately due to bad weather we didn't have the opportunity to use the pool or hut tub, but they both looked very inviting.

We really enjoyed the whole quiet ambience of the property and the village. It was fun going to and fro on the little ferry. Having a room with a balcony was lovely and we could swim in the sea directly from the hotel. Would have liked a breakfast buffet with cereal and fruit etc for flexibility but that was a minor point

It was a lovely place and we probably had the best room at the end of the small block (additional windows to the side). The pool area was very good, although we didn’t get the opportunity to try out the pool during our short stay. Although not a problem for us or anyone using their car, it is not really walking distance from Paihia. However on the plus side it is very close to a small convenience and fish and chip shop, as well as Haruru Falls.

We arrived at little early but was made very welcome by Helen. Given tea & coffee. Our room was pristine, spacious, towels & tea & coffee making facilities with free tea, coffee and milk. The bedding were covered with a thick mattress topper for added comfort. Good pillows. Television. The well equipped kitchen had everything you need. The beautiful grounds included a hot tub & swimming pool, towels provided. The walks through the grounds led us to the river with waterfalls and fairy pools....

Superb apartment with superb views. Nice clean and spacious. Good location. Nothing wrong with it. Would recommend to anyone. Only improvements that can be done is providing toiletries like tissues and a bit more frequent servicing of 2 days instead of 3 days. But overall a wonderful property to book without any hesitation.

I am somewhat loathed to write such a positive review of the Breakwater for fear of too many of you booking a room leaving them unavailable for when I want to return, but as people have already said - this is a beautiful place to stay. The owner/managers are an absolute delight, from allowing early check in/out and offering assistance with 'must see' activities in the local area. I had booked into a room with an uninterrupted sea view (room 10) and it was by far the most superior accommodation...

We really enjoyed our time in this comfortable apartment, which was very well equipped and set in sub-tropical planting to give a wonderfully relaxed and private feel. Paihia was our first stop on a six week tour of NZ and this was the ideal place to unwind for a few days after a long and tiring journey from the UK
The site manager, Jan, was friendly and helpful on arrival and throughout provided tips to help us make the most of our stay
