The name honours Thomas Waldrum, a skilled watchmaker and jeweller born in 1866, who ran his shop from this very building until his death in 1930\. His daughter Mary, born in the cottage in 1912, lived here her entire life, passing away in 2005\. The original entrance to Thomas Waldrum’s Jeweller’s and Watchmaker’s shop was located between the two front lounge windows, where customers once stepped inside to browse delicate timepieces and fine jewellery. Thomas’s workshop was situated at No. 52, now a cosy lounge where guests can unwind and soak in the character and charm still embedded in the cottage’s walls. The Waldrum family lived next door at No.54, which now forms the front and rear bedrooms of the cottage.
