The furniture is simple and functional, characterized by original finishes with typical cement tiles. The location is absolutely charming: a historic building (18th century) located in the heart of Ortigia, a few meters from the Duomo, the Arethusa Fountain and several architectural masterpieces that can range from different styles and eras. Furnished with taste and care for detail (from the elegant wooden ceilings to the refined terracotta floor), the apartment comes with satellite TV, free wifi, air conditioning / heat pump, hairdryer, microwave oven and a shared laundry. The apartment has been completely renovated and its location is super convenient: it is located a few steps from the Arethusa Fountain and Piazza Duomo, as well as from many restaurants, cafes, pizzerias. At about 50m you will find the small beach of Cala Rossa as well as the bus stop. Also, many food shops and other services are available nearby. \*Upon arrival or a few days before arrival it may be required to pay a tourist tax, which varies according to local regulations. You will find your reservation details within the Guest Area of Wonderful Italy. For relax and sea lovers, Eastern Sicily and the surroundings of Siracusa are the perfect choice. Leaving the ancient Greek city and going toward the south, the best equipped beaches worth of a visit are Minareto, Fanusa, Arenella and Fontane Bianche, whose name is due to the natural sweet spring water and to the unique white sand. Then, In the island of Ortigia there are some equipped solarium (Zefiro and Nettuno), as well as the free beach of Cala Rossa. Going further south, about 30 kms far away from Siracusa, there are amazing and wild beaches: Calamosche, Vendicari with its Wildlife Park and the precious San Lorenzo. For those looking for cultural and historical sites, it is recommended to visit Teatro Greco and its archeological site with the famous Orecchio di Dionisio (a limestone cave shaped as a human ear), the Museum Paolo Orsi, then the Latomie dei Cappuccini, and finally the island of Ortigia with its natural and historic eye-catching landscapes. Finally, our guests should visit the town of Noto, the seafront of Tonnara di Avola and the fisherman village of Marzamemi. Sicily is beauty, a wild land with a millennial history impossible to forget at first glance, that will take a special space in your heart. The airport of Catania Fontanarossa is about 60 kms far away, while Comiso Pio La Torre airport is 110 kms far. At first glance, it seemed clean, but the floors had a thick, dusty residue, almost like paint dust. The beds were extremely uncomfortable—if you have back issues, avoid this place. I even tried stacking the two twin mattresses for support, but it barely helped. Mosquitoes were a big issue, with bites covering me the first night. Although they sprayed, I ended up buying a plug-in repellent to keep them away. The bathroom setup was also frustrating, with no shelves or hooks for towels or toiletries, plus very limited supplies (no tissues, only two toilet paper rolls for three people, and no laundry detergent). Natural light was scarce, and the street noise at night was very disruptive. We also had no blankets the first night, making it uncomfortably cold. The trash system was confusing, with extra charges if you missed the collection. Worst of all, the communication was poor. Despite replying immediately to their texts, responses from staff took hours, and at checkout, no one showed up as promised. We left the keys with their driver but later got messages asking where the keys were. Overall, though the area was charming, I’d recommend staying closer to the Piazza of Archimedes for better access to shops. The lack of amenities, comfort, and clear communication made this stay fall short of expectations. ##### Alexandra P. Quiet street without traffic and major tourist streams. Great and prompt service from rental company. Great online checkin and whatsapp communication.
