The hotel (suites) is outstanding! The room was large enough to host a party! Very clean, quiet and comfortable. We loved this place and it was the highlight of our trip in terms of hotel amenities, comfort and quality. Definitely recommend and would stay here again anytime. Parking can be a little challenging and you need to walk about 10-min to closest public parking.

The antique building is,AMAZING, It was before a film set or a musseum, The hotel is in front of a very particular beach, you need to stop there for a bath or for some pics. The bedroom was super huge , clean, beautiful view, the towells super soft. Bed very confortable. Lot of natural light the terrace is a plus, Breakfast place and atención very good

This is an excellent hotel in a renovated building that used to be a cinema museum. Rooms were large and well decorated. Bed was very comfortable, Location was perfect. Breakfast was also great. We liked everything about this hotel.

It is a beautiful property recently renovated. Very comfortable bed with fine linen and fancy large bathroom. Large breakfast with mamy choices. Has nice roof terrace with comfortable sofas and see view. Good elevators. Convenient location on the east wall close to the bus stop connecting with the bus terminal (#106). We hope to come back.

Okay, this could be one of the cutest and coolest places we have ever stayed. The staff was amazing and the location was great. Really loved the small elevator to get to our fantastic room with a little view of the Mediterranean . From this hotel you can go anywhere. CHARMING!

Awesome place! Barbara the manager was totally amazing and dedicated to making sure all our needs were met. The room was very clean and comfortable. Wifi worked great. Location. Was within walking distance of the center of town, shops and restaurants and the Valley of the Temples. This property deserves the highest recommendation!

Although the rooms are spread out throughout an old palace - a bit of a maze - the room was clean, large, with a nice balcony and in excellent shape. The hotel is in the middle of everything in Ortigia - shopping, restaurants, historic sites and seconds away from the sea. It’s on a pedestrian only street (most of Ortigia is pedestrian only) but taxis can come to the corner where vehicles are allowed, 50 meters from the hotel door. I highly recommend this place, though if you’re planning to arrive late, you may need to call the number on the door to be let in and get checked-in.

This is a nice property, that should be a luxury hotel but fails in some key aspects. The reception is very messy and looks like a cheap hotel filled with ads for other companies. Super tacky. When I got there the elevator wasn't working. When I got to the room the wifi stopped working. Tried to call the reception for help but even though the room has a ton of supposedly helpful literature, not one had the details of the wifi, or how to call front desk. Had to walk all the way back to the reception. When I told the receptionist that it would be super helpful to actually put the details of the wifi and what code to use to call reception, she told me that this has been brought up to management many times but they choose to ignore it. Hopefully this one-star review will encourage them to take action. The breakfast doesn't offer cooked-to-order eggs or pancakes. Again, something that a luxury property should offer as standard (and the eggs served at breakfast were nasty, but the bacon was great). Finally I asked for a beach towel to go to the beach next door, and was told that I could rent one for 5 euro. Again, not cool. Lastly the bathroom products come with an advertorial that felt very tacky. Cheap products wrapped in ribbons to seem more upscale. Overall pretty disappointing.

We were not familiar and it took a minute to locate as the entrance is not facing the street. Once we found it, Giuliani checked us right in and set up a parking valet for us. She helped us with our luggage and showed us to our room. Beautiful building with great history. Rooms were quiet and clean. The Manager, Domenico was an absolute treat and made us feel right at home. I can’t wait to go back. Grazie Mille, Lanterne Magiche! You have earned guests for a lifetime.

We LOVED this property. It is perfectly located on a charming street with ocean views from the balcony. The room itself was enormous, with a huge main bedroom, tons of storage, a second bedroom behind that, a charming little sitting area in the entrance, and a spacious bathroom with large shower. The hotel used to be a museum of cinema, and retains some charming decor reminiscent of that. Don't miss the "home movies" from the 40s, 50s, 60s and beyond. Just charming.

We absolutely loved our stay at Lanterne Magiche in Ortigia! The hotel is a charming combination of multiple buildings, with a beautiful old-world look on the outside while offering a modern, comfortable feel inside. Our room was spacious, exceptionally clean, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed. The robes and slippers were an especially nice luxurious touch! The staff was incredibly helpful, welcoming, and attentive throughout our stay. Breakfast was just what we needed to start our days of exploring, with a nice selection and a comfortable atmosphere. And the location was perfect—it made it so easy to explore Ortigia on foot and experience everything the city has to offer. A beautiful property with wonderful staff, a great location, and all the comforts you could want. We would absolutely stay at Lanterne Magiche again!

Rooms were spotless, great showers and short walk to the centre. The only downside for a senior was no lift. Lucky for me the receptionist assisted getting cases upstairs. They should tell you that the suites have no lift access and I would have chosen the hotel room rather than the suites.
