The apartment located in the heart of Ortigia, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2005 and included in the World Heritage List, is only 150 meters from the suggestive Cathedral. Many of the island's attractions are a stone's throw from the house: a short walk through one of the typical alleys of Ortigia will take you to Piazza del Duomo, with its unique Cathedral built on the ruins of a Greek temple (5th century BC). Less than 300 meters away, you will find one of Syracuse's landmarks: the "Fontana di Aretusa", a fresh water spring - populated by ducks and papyrus plants - whose origin is rooted in Greek mythology. The Bellomo Museum, the typical and picturesque fish market in Via Trento and the "Castello Maniace", a fortress located at the end of the island, are within walking distance.
