Location: Approximately 700 meters from the rocky coastline and with beautiful views of the landscape and the nearby Ionian Sea, is this detached house with private pool. Interior: The spacious apartment is on two floors and is comfortably furnished for six people. A few steps lead to the raised living area with spacious, open plan living space in which a fitted kitchen with dining table, dishwasher and air conditioning are located. The living space with seating offers a wood burning stove for fresher seasons. Espresso machine (classic espresso maker) available. Sat-TV with flatscreen. Two double bedrooms both with air conditioning and an elegant bathroom with shower / WC / bidet. A few steps through the external stairs lead down to a separate ambience with a further double bedroom with air conditioning and bathroom with shower / WC / bidet en suite. Andalúz possible. Short drive to Arenella beach (10mins). Lidl - short drive to outskirts of Syracuse. Local grocery store a 8min walk down the hill on roadside - breads and pastries, cheese and ham, drinks. In close proximity of the sea, need a car to drive there as no direct path access to walk to sea access. We had a mixture of chill out days in the villa and beach time at Arenella. Bed and parasol at beach is overpriced as the Italians have already expressed in news reports, but the villa has a good parasol you can take to the beach. If you want to eat out be prepared for a drive to places, there are a couple of local beach resort restaurants but as there are no paths on roadsides it’s safer to drive. It was practical to have a separate section where the teenagers could have some privacy. The swimming pool was nice, and you could swim into the sunset. A bit disruptive was the neighboring house with a rooster that made some noise, so it was necessary to close the windows during the night. A great base for excursions, but a car is necessary! There is a shop nearby, and you can explore areas with beautiful cliffs nearby – though there are few sidewalks. Stunning and varied views where you get both the landscape, Etna, and the sea. It was lovely to enjoy the sunset from the rooftop terrace. Additionally, we had the world's kindest host, Dario, who helped us with solutions when we had bad luck with the rental car and other things. The house owner was there for watering and fixing, and was indeed also a solution-oriented and friendly man. ##### Astrid B. They hardly any plug.The lower ground appartment toilet was not very clean, the hairdryer did not work and no plugs at all, funnly enough there were 2 bedside table with lamps only for the photo since there are not actual sockets to plug in.Dissapointed in the fact that having reported those issues daily we were fully charged for electricity. It is also worth mentioning, the owner of the property showing up daily without notice for maintenance purposes, but when requested the pool to be cleaned it was hardly done. Das Haus ist sehr großzügig mit einem wundervollen Pool, einer schattigen Terrasse und einer luftigen Dachterrasse mit großartiger Aussicht. Der Besitzer Mario pflegte den Pool dreimal pro Woche persönlich und überraschte uns öfter mit sehr leckeren, typisch sizilianischen Köstlichkeiten. Der Verwalter Dario war auch sehr nett und war auch immer zu erreichen. An einem Abend war die Gasflasche leer,eine SMS und sie wurde noch am gleichen Abend gewechselt.Die Einrichtung des Hauses ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen und bedarf einer Auffrischung, zusätzlich sollten zumindest vier Wein- und Biergläser vorhanden sein.Einziges richtiges Manko: Obwohl das Haus sehr abgelegen ca. acht Kilometer südlich von Syracusa liegt, war an richtigem Schlaf nicht zu denken. Eine Eventlocation in unmittelbarer Nähe veranstaltete insgesamt fünfmal eine Feier mit Band und Feuerwerk bis zwei Uhr morgens. Dazu kam ein (in unseren Augen verhaltensgestörter) Hahn in der Nachbarschaft, der ohne Unterbrechung von drei bis neun Uhr morgens krähte. Dadurch wohl auch die umliegenden Hunde weckte, dieses Gebell kam dann dazu. Schade, denn ansonsten haben wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt. ##### Angelo F. Ongeveer 10 kilometer onder Siracusa. Goed verblijf als je van rust houd en groot zwembad. Huis is gedateerd ingericht. Geen horeca in dorpje. Auto is een noodzaak. Molto curata la proprietà, immersa nel verde e dotata di tutti i confort, fra cui una godibilissima veranda coperta sotto la quale abbiamo trascorso piacevoli giornate, fra una nuotata e l'altra nella adiacente piscina. Teilweise wies das Haus noch Spuren von den Vorgängern auf (alte Luftmatratze lag rum oder das Mobiliar auf der Dachterrasse war brüchig und kaputte Fliegengitter sollten ersetzt statt behelfsmäßig mit Kochlöffeln fixiert werden, gerade bei dem Mückenansturm), aber sonst ist die Ausstattung des Hauses zufriedenstellend. Mit 20 Minuten von Siracusa und Meernähe ist die Lokalität des Hauses perfekt und trotzdem ruhig. Es gibt viele Dinge für Unternehmungslustige in erreichbarer Nähe zu erleben. Wenn auch im Vorfeld die Kommunikation nicht optimal war, waren wir doch dankbar für ein reibungsloses Check-in und -out, und das trotz unserer enormen Verspätung wegen des Fluges. ##### Annelie E. The villa is exactly as advertised and is well placed for a peacefully quiet stay, outside of Siracusa town itself and a mini mart within walking distance for your essentials. The area has a lot to offer in terms of historical and archaeological places of interest to visit, as well as the wonderful island of Ortegia to meander through the many narrow alleyways and marvel at the architecture.
