The Neighborhood:
George Street is the main artery of Sydney's CBD — you are not near the action, you are in it.
On foot: 1 minute to World square and 3 minutes to the Queen Victoria Building. 7 minutes to Darling Harbour.
Short trips: 15 minutes by ferry to Manly Beach. 25 minutes to Bondi Junction by train. 23 minutes to the airport by Kingsford Smith Airport link train.
Eat and drink within a 5-minute walk: the small-bar strip on York Street for after-dinner drinks. The CBD's best Vietnamese on Dixon Street in Chinatown (Note: Dixon Street is an easy 5-minute walk south from this address). Breakfast at one of the local cafes around World Square or Bathurst Street (such as The Ground of the City or Workshop Espresso nearby).
Local tip: the Wynyard Park rooftop garden on the corner of George and Barrack is the best low-key lunch spot in the CBD that most visitors never find.
Getting Around:
Airport: Sydney Kingsford Smith is approx 20–25 minutes by Car, Uber or taxi (longer during weekday peak hours), or take the Airport Link train from Town Hall Station — a 1-to-2 minute walk from the apartment (the station entrance is essentially right next door) — for around $20 per person.
Public transport: Town Hall Station (T1, T2, T3, T4, T5 lines) and Wynyard Station (T1 line) are both within a short walk. Opal card is the fastest way to pay — available at any 7-Eleven. (Note: You can also just tap on and off directly with your contactless credit card, debit card, or phone).
Car: Parking is available in the premises. CBD congestion pricing does not currently apply in Sydney (though a separate Parking Space Levy affects commercial parking operators). Ride-share pickup is straightforward from George Street — Uber, DiDi, and Ola all operate throughout Sydney.
Bike: Lime and Neuron e-bikes are available in the CBD via app. The shared cycle lane runs the length of George Street.
