A nice hotel in a small town.
The location is excellent. It was clean and comfortable. The only problem was no English signs or TV. There was a very limited number of TV stations and all in German.

Excellent hotel
Excellent hotel with very friendly service. Easy access to town by bike, 5-10 minute walk to the town centre.

Unfortunately, we stayed when the hotel was catering for a wedding so there was reduced availability of staff and services. There was also a lot of noise coming from the event and this continued throughout my first nights stay. The spa opening hours are limited, there was no room service, the restaurant was able to serve me food on the first night as a favour as they initially said they are not serving hotel guests due to them focusing on the wedding and their guests. They also didn’t mention any breakfast such as cost/time/location so I never ate at the hotel but they did attempt to charge me for it on check out (until I corrected them). The room wasn’t great either, the shower hose was leaking so the power of it was weak, there was a light hanging out of the ceiling and not working, the bed was set up as a twin bed pushed together even though we were two so the mattresses came apart every night and the cleaners were rude, bursting into our room with one knock 1 second before entering. Luckily I was right next to the door so I could stop them entering (we were unclothed!). I found this hotel too expensive for the lack of staff and services available. If I’d known there was a wedding taking place I’d have stayed somewhere else.

The hotel was very nice and the restaurant was quite nice as well. The internet in room 204 was poor and barely working. My bed had some sort of plastic foil under the cover and it wasn’t very comfortable. But overall, a really nice property.

A perfect stay
Conference hotel with suites, restaurant and bar and beer garden onsite. Room was as described, spotless with outdoor patio. King suite worth the extra price. Secure underground parking €10 per night. Numerous restaurants within walking distance, the food in the beer garden was excellent.

The hotel was in walking distance of the train station and the centre of Straubing. The room was clean and it had a nice welcoming note left on the bed with pillow mints. The bed was comfy and the hallways were quiet to ensure a restful nights sleep. The staff were very friendly and spoke English. We could also use the spa at the hotel. Just a note on the spa, it is a fabric free zone so people use it naked, of course with a robe or towel in the saunas. Overall our stay at Hotel ASAM was fantastic!

It is very unusual for me to enjoy a hotel stay as much as this one and for a new hotel I found that everything exceeded my expectations apart from the misunderstanding about saute potatoes with my dinner

Great mattress, breakfast nice rooms that's it
Only thing that I enjoyed was the comfortable mattress, clean modern looking room and awesome breakfast. Location is too far to walk to attractions. Front desk staff didn't speak a lick of English. Let's say it took a little effort in understanding each other. You would figure a big hotel like the Asam would hire personnel who speak enough to help foreign guest. I had check-in and out problems because of their computer glitch. After check in I visited the hotel bar and was immediately disappointed. I had to ask for a table. Once seated I waited awhile for someone to ask what I wanted to drink. Let's say I didn't need a beer that bad so I walked out. Beside the little issues it was a good place to experience for one night. But I would rather stay in town next time, now that I have come every year to see my neurosurgeon.

The breakfast they offer is excellent. The rooms are a bit sparse in decor but very clean. Bathroom does not have a door separating it from bedroom so for some it lacks privacy. Good parking. Air conditioning is a wonderful thing!

Super Abendessen und klasse Frühstück. Sehr freundliches Personal. Das Bett war auch sehr bequem. Spa Bereich teste ich das nächste mal.

Zuerst bekommen wir ein Zimmer, in dem deutlicher Rauchgeruch wahrzunehmen war. Haben aber umgehend ein anderes gleichwertiges Zimmer bekommen. Ansonsten top!
