"The entrance to the hotel was lovely and staff very welcoming and helpful. It was good that you needed a room key to call a lift as it felt secure. Pool was nice but a bit tatty , old surroundings Room on 3rd floor was UNCOMFORTABLY hot with no air con ...just a small desk fan . We hardly slept due to it being too hot and stayed out of the hotel as much as possible which was not great as we were there for a sports competition and needed to rest. Food and room service not available Friday, Saturday and Sunday....WHAT???????"

"Great Hotel for Family Stays and Golf. Staff members were helpful the evening meal was to a good standard. Swimming pool / Gym well run with good facilities. Warning to people using the pool you may need to check when the Daily Aqua Aerobics classes are on as the pool closes during these period and hotel guests need to work around these."

"The hotel was well located for the wedding we attended at clearwell castle and was a good price for the area. However, the whole building suffers from creaky floorboards which make an absolute racket anytime anybody moves, which means once somebody decides to be up, there is no more sleep for you. The beds are also quite hard and the rooms were stuffy with no fans provided. I also thought the bathroom could have benefitted from a deep clean. Overall it was ok, but I wouldn’t go back."

"Our expectations weren’t high because this hotel was so reasonably priced, but The Tewkesbury Lodge was a pleasant surprise—the most beautiful place, with spacious rooms, helpful, friendly staff and delicious food, both at breakfast and at night. We constantly marveled at the views and the beautiful gardens, as well as the perfectly maintained golf course. Only downside was no elevators and no air conditioning, so just fix that by asking for a ground floor room and a fan. Definitely will return. Thank you for a lovely stay!!"

"Great location, lovely staff, comfy bed. Room and furnishings all looking pretty tired and like they could do with an update, and what looked like mould on the bathroom ceiling presumably due to the lack of ventilation there. Breakfast was fairly average. Would stay again but best not to have particularly high expectations."
