Lovely hotel, bedroom very clean and warm, lovely bathroom, liked the choice of 'hotel or shower?' offered on check-in. Sauna very nice too and lovely products to use in shower there and plenty of towels. However, the food set-up was rather odd. The breakfast was fabulous but laid out in the adjacent restaurant Miss Voon and there was also a British-style pub attached to the hotel at the other side (The Bishop's Arms) but as there was no restaurant or lounge in the hotel itself there was no informal place for having a cup of tea or biscuit/sandwich during the day. On New Year's Eve, for example, the British pub closed at 5pm and the restaurant had been fully booked for some days in advance. We got a list of restaurants open in the city (limited) and we tried them all - all fully booked. However, we did get a space across the road at Jamie Oliver's restaurant ourselves (it was, strangely, not on the hotel's list of open restaurants) so that saved the day. I thought we could have been told about the strange alcohol laws on NYE too which saw no alcohol served, even in supermarkets, after 3pm unless you were in a (rare) restaurant! Small complaint, though, given the hotel was lovely, staff helpful and had good English, and it was in a great location.
