"Hotel itself was nice and spa area was lovely but the restaurant was not great; food was poor, some of the staff weren't interested in being there and slow service. I avoided the restaurant after the first night but unfortunately had breakfast included so couldnt avoid for that! "

"The staff were friendly and the room was spacious. There were a lot of things that detracted from the experience though: lifts not working, power sockets broken, heated towel rail permanently off, people playing in the pool with balls (despite this being prohibited), broken lockers… it sadly made an otherwise good experience frustrating. Not what I would have expected for the price paid."

"Fun & friendly staff, Sarah on check in was fabulous, friendly and the perfect way to start our stay. Great rooms, lovely gardens, bar had great drinks and team too. Great amount of restaurants and pubs all within walking distance. Breakfast was as top notch too, delicious produce and couldn’t fault it. "

"The hotel is old (but interesting) and needs a lick of paint here and there but the room was very clean. Bathroom with shower very good. Very nice double bed too. Breakfast was buffet style, was good though no fruit. No problem with Wi-Fi. Staff were friendly, polite and helpful. Excellent location for eateries and seeing old Southampton. Good value and would stay there again. "
