"The hotel was huge and offered an impressive range of amenities, with everything you could possibly need. There were multiple outdoor pools, as well as a massive indoor pool. We particularly loved the breakfast buffet, which had a fantastic variety of options. They had halal sausages for Muslim visitors. We did encounter an issue with our initial room, as there were quite a lot of ants on the tables and floor. However, after raising the issue with the hotel, they arranged a room change without any hassle. Overall, the staff handled the situation well and made the process smooth. Ultimately, we had an amazing stay apart from one hiccup, and we would definitely recommend to others and stay again!"

"This is a well appointed amazing hotel. I had no idea how large it was. It’s very efficiently run. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It is very clean The children’s pool with slides is perfect - we had my 2 year old granddaughter with us. Ricardos and Luzzo restaurants are particularly good. In both restaurants there are large well equipped children’s areas. We also liked the adults area especially the sky bar in the evenings and had a wonderful meal at Minoa restaurant on 11th floor with fab views over the bay. The outside area is safe and pleasant unlike many popular areas in Malta which are just shocking. AX hotel is expertly run and I wouldn’t hesitate to highly recommend this hotel"

"This was our 2nd visit this year to this fabulous adult only hotel. Perfect position. Very clean. Rooms well equipped. Rooftop infinity pool is stunning. Indoor pool was glorious and very relaxing with jacuzzi bath. Staff are amazing. Breakfast room beautiful with lots of variation to eat, again stunning views and outdoor seating on the balconies. If the hotel are wanting feedback for potential changes, there would be just one suggestion. New pillows on the beds they were all lumpy. And the beds themselves didnt feel very wide. But apart from that this hotel is absolutely perfect."

"Visited August 2026. I was aware it was going to be busy, but with low expectations in mind - it was quite managable. The room was beyond anticipation, very spacious and we were provided with a wonderful cot for our one year-old. Housekeeping reset our room to amazing standards at a manageble time so myself and my partner could relax in a clean room whilst our baby napped. It was noisy at the pool, however I found the area large enough that you have plenty of opportunities to be out of the bustle. A downside were the pool-bars. I don't mind the token system, but the exchange did cause long queues and with broken coffee-machines or low soda stock, it sometimes meant to either change your order or be sent to the other bar. The bars also did not open until 10 AM and with the heat, the pool was busy from opening. The buffet was varied enough to try something new each visit. The self-serve drinks were great, but had a slight fruit fly problem. The BBQ snack area were a god-send as the buffet opens relatively late (7:30, 12:30 and 18:30). A half hour earlier would have aligned a bit better but then again, that is us with a baby and mid-European dinner times! Overall very pleased with our stay. The staff were wonderful and extremely helpful. Shout out to the BBQ staff who always got us a high chair and the kids club staff for providing a lovely area to play at."

Cora Sun Hotel

"A very large apartment type room with a separate bedroom, lounge, kitchen and balcony. This was a great combination of self-catering facilities but with room service cleaning, and hotel amenities like bars, gym, and pools. Load of space for luggage and to spread out. The hotel was fairly recently built so in general looks new. The room fixtures were high spec and very functional (e.g. rain shower head, granite worktops in the kitchen, large balcony with full table and chairs). However the sofa could have been a little more comfortable. The location was good being very near Qawra and walkable to St Pauls bay area. A 24 hour supermarket is about 2 minutes walk away and excellent ice cream shop not much further (Il gusto del gelato). A good choice for families who need space and want the option of cooking a little as well as eating out."
