A unique fun place.
Although initially not impressed as the location was rather smaller than viewed on the web we then realised that although the property was dated it was clean and comfortable. The ambience however was great and it is really unique in the sense that nothing else can be founds like it on the Island. The dogs and cats were such a feature and Sonja , the owner was so helpful and friendly. So dont expect luxury , just enjoy the garden with its palm trees and flowers and the visits from teh dogs and cats. We were not disturbed at all by the dogs or by the goats, cattle, donkeys and bulls grazing outside the Pink Shack....loved it.

Hi Jane and Patrick thank you so much for taking the time to write such a wonderful review of your stay at my Pinkshack Cottage. I'm so thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us overall and really love to hear that you enjoyed the company of my k9 and feline hosts too. Thank you for being such great guests, hoping to see you back on Antigua some day in the not too distant future.....

Tropical little shack with everything you need.
Stayed 2 weeks, location in 5 islands which we found the most beautiful part of Antigua. Best beach which is a 10 min drive called Deep Bay. Rented a Jeep from owner which was handy. Only one negative about Antigua is the price of groceries. We brought only carry on luggage so couldn’t pack food. Next time a huge suitcase full of food lol. Overall a great relaxing holiday!

Hi Shelley I'm so glad that you enjoyed your stay with us, Stanley, Olga and the pussy cats all miss you ;) I'm pretty sure that I gave the recommendations on your pre arrival voice notes that the groceries could be a little pricey and what to do about it, perhaps that was overlooked lol xx anyway thank you again for the lovely review... Best wishes Sonja and all the Pinkshack fluff kids (both K9 and feline)

A little bit of Paradise
A perfect holiday from start to end. We were very well looked after from the moment we met the driver who welcomed us at the airport arrivals to the moment we hugged Sonja goodbye when she dropped us at the departures. Sonja's little cottages are very picturesque in her beautiful tropical garden. The other guests were very friendly when we bumped into them from time to time. We were actually staying in her next door neighbour's very spacious and well equipped apartment. Sonja is a great host, and took us on an introductory tour of the local beaches and eating places.. Wonderful food especially on Saturdays when an excellent local chef takes the day off from one of the grand resorts and cooks in the garden of his house, within walking distance of Pink Shack. We were so glad that we chose Pink Shack and not one of the big resorts. We had great contact with the locals who are incredibly friendly. Highly recommended. Pretty cottages settled in lush garden. Sonja the host is very kind and helpful.
Loved the idea of the cottages and the privacy was nice. However a vehicle was an absolute must. We had a tough time getting used to the multiple dogs barking in the area. I would suggest bringing ear plugs. We turned the fan on high and closed some of the windows. Ear buds during the day helped distract from the noise. Antigua has lots to offer. Explore! Sonja's lovely pinkshack cottages
We had a great 3 week stay in Antigua. Sonja has 5 cute little cottages in lush gardens of tropical flowers, shrubs and fruit trees, which she has all planted and designed herself. The cottages are all slightly different, but all well designed, spotlessly clean, with full kitchens and outside sitting areas. One has a large raised deck area surrounded and secluded by bamboo and palms, one has a sitting area up some steps with lovely countryside views, one has a large grassed area in front with seats and sunbeds....all are charming and so is Sonja. Always available on site if you need any help with trips, taxis, jeep hire etc but doesn't intrude if you want a quiet time. She offers a weekly cleaning and linen change free of charge, and also supplies huge bottles of water at cost price, very useful. Antigua is beautiful and quite undeveloped compared to Barbados, the capital St Johns is interesting to stroll around, thronged with locals and cruise ship passengers, lots of vendors selling fresh fruit and veg from the back of their vans. Some gorgeous beaches, Deep Bay (15 mins walk away from Pinkshacks), Half Moon Bay and Long Bay were our favourites, great for swimming and snorkelling. Hiring a car or jeep is advisable but there are frequent buses into St Johns and from there you can get buses to other areas of the island. There's not really anywhere to eat out within walking distance of Pinkshacks but we enjoyed shopping in the markets and doing our own cooking, or getting ready made food in the local supermarkets and reheating. There is a local barbeque in Five Islands Village twice a week. Another thing we really enjoyed were the birds of Antigua, there are salt ponds and mangrove swamps full of birdlife, pelicans diving for fish, frigate birds, egrets, herons, ospreys, whistling ducks etc Thanks Sonja for a great holiday Cath and Nigel
