Top Sraheens Lough Hotel Reviews
Nevins Inn
10/10 Excellent
"The location of the inn is central for short trips in the areas around Newfield. The rooms were spacious enough that 4 of us didn’t feel like we were on top of each other. Despite the age of the inn, you can tell the family invests money to keep the amenities current. The biggest standout for Nevins Inn is the food and staff. We had appetizers, main dinners, and desserts. All were spectacular and worthy of a high end restaurant. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Special thanks to our bartender Dan who gave us some recommendations for a very scenic route to our next destination."
Mulranny Park Hotel
8/10 Good
"We enjoyed the 4 night stay and especially going to the pool besides cycling and walking (the green way is right behind the hotel that was great!). The hotel is in good nick, slight updating maybe of the pool needed but nothing major. The breakfast was o.k., nothing special but everything we needed. We were a little disappointed with the attention and welcome of the staff. Half were outgoing and great, other half seemed very self absorbed, no attention to needs, no good morning etc. We had to get up from our breakfast table to ask someone to get a pot of tea every moning (!!!) ourselves, instead someone would come to the table. We were also given on checkin a room with difficult access, right above the ventilation with no real windows which was extremely disappointing as we had same in last hotel. I am not sure if this happens because we are two female travellers or just bad luck? Anyway, they did change the room for us and I was very happy with that as this is our yearly work holiday, trying o spoent money local and at mid 50s you like to get a good sleep. In regard to the pool however, it was also difficult timing, as from 15:00 onwards the pool was booked by local swim classes (Mon to Wed but same happened out of schedule THU), so you needed to swim first and then go for the cycle while it kind of should be other way around. However, thank you for accomodating us!"
Knockranny House Hotel and Spa
8/10 Good
"Good stay at a good price. Stayed 2 nights as a rest day on our Wild Atlantic Way trip. Turned out to be a great choice. Didn’t use the Dpa facilities at all"
Westport Coast Hotel
8/10 Good
"Clean comfortable room. The lighting was tricky(I’m not familiar with inserting your key card into a slot in order to activate electricity). An explanation would have been helpful. The front desk staff was not particularly helpful with transportation issues. In addition staff throughout the hotel - front desk, restaurant, bar - were very superior in attitude, appeared bothered by questions, not particularly friendly. Breakfast, restaurant food and service, housekeeping, room conditions were all excellent. Other staff were not friendly or interested. Not the typical Irish welcoming that you expect in Ireland."
